General Overview

My home is located on the North Shore of Maui, at about 2500 foot elevation. It is serene and peaceful with a peekaboo view of the ocean from the lanai. Because of the elevation the temperature here is usually about 7-10 degrees lower than down at the beaches which is welcome reprieve from the heat that can reach high 80’s 90’s down by the sea level. It is very private and simple. Its got all the basic amenities but no extra frills. The nearest swimming beach is a 20 minute drive, down the hill and along a beautiful coastline. The town of Paia is 25 minutes in the same direction. It’s got a large grocery store, restaurants, shops. Etc. Just past is is Baldwin beach, an epic beach with a mile long shoreline. You are also 10 minutes away from Makawao, another quaint town ‘upcountry’ with shops and restaurants.

The Space

2 bedrooms. King bed in one, a bunk bed with full size mattress on the bottom and tween on the top in the other. 16 foot ceiling in the living room. Large bathtub. Balcony Backyard

Notes

The North shore is located on the other side of the Island, about an hour drive from Lahaina, which until the fires was the main tourist town on Maui. It is also a 45 drive from Kihei, another tourist town. This is where all the tour companies that offer snorkeling tours, surf lessons etc are located. So keep this in mind when planning your vacation. The North Shore has plenty to offer, but it’s not touristy like the West and South side of the island. It is however closer to Hana, a very local town on the east side of the island which is a huge tourist attraction, due to its being located at the end of the road to Hana, a gorgeous drive along the shore, peppered with numerous waterfalls.
