General overview
This recently renovated 18th century chalet is located in a mountain pasture, in the heart of a hamlet with 6 other farms and a 17th century chapel, at an altitude of 1050m. There, you can enjoy the mountains in total serenity!
For ski lovers, it is also just 10 minutes by car from the Grand Massif Express to the Samoens-Flaine-Morillon "Grand Massif" ski area, which is one of the biggest ski domains in France, open from Dec 15 to April 15.
For hiking lovers, this is an ideal spot as the path in front of the chalet is a hiking trail (Grande traversée des Alpes GR5) that crosses the Alps through the Mont Blanc. The beautiful Cirque de Sixt fer à cheval is an easy hike for kids and is the second biggest 'Cirque' in France: There are plenty of amazing hiking trails in the vicinity toward Morzine, Les Gets, and Sixt. Families also love to do rafting on the Giffre river, which stops close to the tennis and pool club in Samoens.
The space
The independent 100m2 apartment is located on the ground floor of this large renovated farmhouse. The whole chalet has been renovated and we often occupy the top two floors all year long during weekends and small holidays.
The independent apartment we exchange has its own entrance, separate from the access to top floors. It comprises a large entrance hall, a comfortable living room with two sofas, a fully-equipped kitchen and a large Savoyard table for meals. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The master suite (queen size bed160) has its own bathroom (bath and WC). The second bedroom has two single beds, and access to the second bathroom (shower + WC), and the third bedroom also has two single beds. The apartment has a 50m2 terrace in front of it, a large garden and access to a second large terrace overlooking the valley.
Reserved parking is situated in front of the chalet.
Guest access
The independent apartment is on the ground floor, easy to access, but there are still a few steps, so it is not accessible for a wheelchair.
Notes
This is ideal for hike amateurs and ski lovers, either Nordic ski or Alpine ski, as the both ski domains (Nordic and Alpine) are 10 minutes away from the chalet by car (toward Morzine and Samoens, respectively).
