General overview
We are located in Southville, which is a vibrant area of South Bristol. Located close to the city centre, meaning no care hire necessary, that said we do have a car parking space, which is unusual for a home so close to the centre.
Regardless of which direction you leave the house, there is something to explore. We are only 5 minutes away from Bristol Harbour, which is a beautiful (roughly) 5 km walk, lined with shops, bars and cafes. You can take the Ferry to the other side, or explore the length of the harbour by boat. There is also the SS Great Britain if you like you history.
The area if Southville and Bedminster is renowned for it's sense of community and is very family friendly.
Bristol has so much to explore including;
- The Clifton Suspension Bridge
- The Harbour
- Museums
- Science Museums
- Shopping
- Art, Music and culture.
- The clifton Downs and Leighwoods
- The Balloon fiesta (August) but you will likely see Hot air Balloons most of the year round.
But if you are up for travelling slight further afield and using Bristol as your Base, you can visit;
- Bath (A world heritage site) and the roman Baths (a truly beautiful city accessible by train in 12 mins).
- Wales
- The Cotswolds & Mendips
(Only a short drive from Bristol and you have access to cost/ and hilly Green walking adventures).
- The Brecon Beacons (Wales) and Pen-Y-Fan.
- London is also only a 2-3 hour train journey away.
The space
We live in a 3 bedroom house, with a kitchen diner, that can comfortably sit 6 people around the table.
There is a separate living room space, for watching TV or reading, or playing games - we have lots of games and books to read.
Downstairs there is a small toilet and sink and up stairs, we have a wet room shower and toilet, stylishly decorated.
My kitchen is pink (pictures to be updated) and I love it. We love colour and the sense of joy we get from it.
Each room is double and has a double bed in it, with new mattresses for extra comfort.
Guest access
We have a check in lockbox.

Neighbourhood
Our area is made up of 4 main high streets, North, South, East and West. North street is the most established with many shops, cafes, bars and restaurants to frequent. It is also the home of graffiti, not your average tag, but large scale, commissioned pieces that are updated each year by different artists from all over the world (some of them are incredible). There is a local Sunday Market every week at the old Tobacco factory, where you can purchase amazing street food and crafts.
There is a large stadium about 20 mins walk from the house which shows football, rugby and also bog music events, we last saw the Spice Girls and Kings of Leon.
We love hiking and we have some Bristol and Beyond walking books which are easy to follow and will take you on green walks around the Mendips, Gloucester and wales (just a short drive away).
Getting to my home
There is a bus that runs directly from the airport to East street, this is 5 mins from our house.
We also live a 20 min walk from the train station, which is along the harbour.
Nearest airport
Bristol - however we mostly fly from London because flights are much cheaper, and more regular.
Getting around
There are buses than run very close to the house, and also Bristol is renowned for electric scooters which you can hire.
Harris and I are avid cyclists and will often take long rides out to the Cotswolds and Mendips.

My name is Lucy, and I live in Bristol (UK). I live with my partner Harris and our little dog Beans who is a very cute girl (I'd love to do more travelling with her).
We haven't home exchanged before but we do use Air BnB to let out our house when we go away, so we are used to hosting people in our home.
We Love to Travel and together we have been to some lovely places, I am constantly thinking about where we can go next. The idea of building connections with people across the globes is an exciting concept for me.
In 2025 I would like to plan a 2-3 week road trip through some of Canada, a place I have never been, either through hospitality, or sim swaps. If you're from Canada and interested get in touch, we can be flexible. Or indeed anywhere else in the world..... looking forward to see where this takes us.
"I would loveeeee love love to go around December/ Christmas time."
Dates flexible
"For Christmas, Halloween on any public holiday (I'm a very festive person)"
