General overview
Our pretty stone cottage was built in 1642 and is full of old world charm. Our home is in a village next to the local church and featured in the Downton Abbey series as Mrs Patmore’s B and B!We currently have an old cat so can only consider swaps with people prepared to look after her.
The space
Our house is on 3 floors with 4 large double bedrooms over 3 floors. We have 2 inglenook fireplaces and a log burner in our timber roofed lounge which leads to a large modern kitchen with a patio outside the French doors. Our lovely garden is private and walled with old apple and pear trees so suitable for a well behaved dog or children. Our house has 2 sets of narrow stairs with a bathroom along with 2 double bedrooms on each floor. We have 2 studies should anyone wish to work on their holidays and gym with weights and a treadmill.
Guest access
Our door is down a quiet lane with parking on the road in front of the house and next to the church green nearby.
Notes
As our home is old, please don’t expect straight walls and flat floors. Character is built into the history of our home!

Neighbourhood
Our village is located on the edge of the Cotswolds and within a 15 minute drive to the market towns of Burford, Witney and Faringdon. Oxford is 25 minute drive with its myriad of attractions , including fantastic museums, shopping and, of course, colleges. Cotswold area attractions are close by with Cotswold Wildlife Park, Blenheim Palace and Woodstock within a 20 minute drive. Visits are easy to London by bus or train from park and rides stations.
Getting to my home
Getting to Oxford from London is easy by train or bus and the local airports have buses to Oxford too. There is a bus to Witney but a taxi would be needed from there. Basically, you need a car which we would be open to swapping too for an international exchange.
Nearest airport
Bristol, Birmingham and Heathrow are all within 75 minute drive.
Getting around
Guests will need a car to visit here as the bus service is limited.

We are an early retired couple in our 50s who left work to travel. We’ve spent the last 3 years spending winters away in SE Asia and summers home but are looking forward to expanding our horizons in a different way with home exchanges.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
