Neighbourhood
I am 10 minutes away from Greenlake, a top destination for Seattleites and out of town visitors. There are dozens of recreational activities, depending on the season but all year the 3 mile loop around the lake is wildly popular. There is an indoor community pool in the Greenlake Community Center. There are bike trails around the lake.
Spring summer and fall activities include lake swimming, tennis and pickleball courts, 9 hole golf course, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, pickup frisbee, kayak and standup paddleboard rental, community theater, ping pong and more.
The house is 10-20 minutes away from dozens of businesses and services. Almost anything you can think of can be found a short walk from the front door in my neighborhood, Wallingford. Numerous coffee shops, restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies, a public library, and so much more.
I am a 30 minute walk from the University of Washington, minutes away from 2 freeways going north and south. There is also of us that goes to the university, including the University Hospital. Other hospitals are a little farther along the route.
A city bus going to downtown Seattle is a 2 minute walk from my house. That trip will take about 25 minutes.
The beaches along the Puget Sound are a short drive away and their beauty can be enjoyed year round. In addition to being a couple of blocks from Green Lake , the house is a mile from Lake Union and a 5 miles to Lake Washington.
There is a system of bike trails that connects many of the attractions. I catch the Burke Gilman trail just down the hill and I’m able to ride dozens of miles on that protected trail, most months of the year.
Getting to my home
My home can be reached from SeaTac airport using Uber/taxi in approximately 30 minutes. Seattle does have a light rail system. The trip from the airport to the station nearest my home is about 45 minutes. Once off that stop near my house Uber is available and it is a quick 10 minute ride.
Nearest airport
Seattle Tacoma International Airport is 30 minutes away by Taxi/Uber.
Getting Around
The neighborhood is very walkable. Within a 10 block radius there are dozens of restaurants, many coffee, shops, retail, a public library, pharmacies, banks, grocery stores, pubs, bakeries and so much more. Expanding a little farther out the opportunities to walk and explore grow exponentially. Buses are available in every direction, connecting to many neighborhoods, including downtown, local hospitals, dozens of city parks, and several colleges and the University of Washington
