General overview
This is a lovely cottage in the center of the town, but just like if you would be in the country side.
The space
Our cottage is completely newly renovated (2017-2019).
On the first floor, there is a kitchen fully equiped, a living room and a dining room, as well as a office and a bathroom. On the second floor, there are 3 bedrooms (2 Queen Beds and a single one) and a bathroom. In the basement, there is an other bedroom (Queen bed) and a large playing room for kids.
There is large garden at the back of the house with a wood terrace and BBQ for the summer. There is a free access heated swimming pool at about 5 to 10 minutes walk from our house for people and invited guests of the district.
In the livingroom, there is a modern gaz ''fireplace'' which make it very easy to have a fire in the house mainly during winter. It is very pleasant and warm.
We are living in a street near many shops and restaurants (less than 10 minutes walks). Even if we are living in town, it seems like we are leaving in the country side because of large trees and distances between houses. Buses stop at the corner of the street (3 to 5 minutes walk depending on which one you need to take and where you need to go) and are very easy to use to go down town or to reach the airport. University is at the corner of the street.
We have a car we can include in the exchange (Volkwangen City). You can easily find a car to rent at the university aswell.
Guest access
There are three different levels for a total of 190 m2.
There are stairs to access each level of the house. It may not be convenient for young children.
Notes
You will have access to 4 bicycles (adults one). You can easily rent bicycles on the street on Maguire street (about 10 min walks).

Neighbourhood
It is a very quiet quarter, just like in the country side but in town. Only the resident usually access to the streets where we live as it is a dead end. You will find restaurants, shops, swimming pool near by the house.
During summer : Many things to visit in town (museum, streets, amazing festivals all summer from July till the end to august beginning of september), in the country side (plenty of parcs, beautiful walks).
There is a large swimming pool center with big slides and waves swimming pool (In Door and Out Door) at about 20 minutes by car from our house. We usually have an annual pass for this.
In winter : The first Ski resort where we have annual passes is at 20 minutes by car from home. There are many more at about 35 minutes (Mont Stonham), 50 minutes (Mont St Anne) and 75 minutes (Massif-Petite Rivières St-François ... if you like skiing .... you should check that one !!)
Getting around
It is very easy to go somewhere down town or in the suburb. It take about 10 to 20 minutes to reach each of them by car or by bus.

Great lovers of travel, with my job as university professor in child psychology, possibilities are greats depending on sabbatical and holidays. My teenagers Zoé and Justin, 17 years old, follow me most of the time even during school periods. Accustomed to traveling, they adapt very well and respect goods of others.
Passionate about all kind of things, we love to discover different environments, whether in the city or in the country.
We look forward to exchanging ideas and welcoming you to our home in the heart of beautiful Quebec City.
