Welcome to our spacious and cosy home, nestled in a quintessential Kentish village. The house has an open-plan kitchen and sitting room, a study, a small library, three bedrooms and three bathrooms. The master-bedroom has views both onto the street and onto the garden and is en suite. The garden at the back is private and has a beautiful view of our village church. In spring time, the garden is full of wild flowers and our vegetable patch is full of beans and berries. We have strong internet, a Smart TV and a fully-equipped kitchen. We have laundry facilities in our large outdoor shed.
We are lucky enough to live in a close-knit village that has a beautiful manor house and public gardens (described as one of the most beautiful gardens in England), a friendly village pub with great Vietnamese-British cuisine, a village choir, an ancient church and beautiful rural surrounds full of footpaths.

Neighbourhood
Our small, peaceful village is in a little valley, surrounded by forests and fields. At the end of this cul-de-sac road is a manor house and public gardens with a large cricket pitch. There are many footpaths around us that are great for walking or riding horses. We have a village pub, beautiful gardens, a church, village hall and village school. Our village is friendly with different things going on from fetes to music nights in the church. In the next village is a train station that links directly to London. It is a thirty minute drive to Canterbury, where there are theatres, cinemas, bars and restaurants.
Nearest airport
London Gatwick - about 2 hours.

My name is Lotte - originally I am from the UK, but I live in Cape Town with my partner and baby. My Mum, who lives in the UK, visits us in South Africa for months at a time, and we are looking to house-swap for the time she is here - exchanging our family home in the UK for a place in Cape Town! I work in creative communications and my partner is a writer.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
