My home is a beautifully refurbished apartment near the Swan River in Perth, Western Australia.
The Space
There are two bedrooms and also a living room that was formerly a bedroom before the renovation. I have a double bed in there so it can be used as a third bedroom. However, it doesn't have a door on it that can be closed for privacy.
There is a beautifully renovated open-plan kitchen, and also a renovated bathroom with a shower and bath.
Guest Access
The apartment is on the fifth floor of the building but there is an elevator if you do not wish to climb the stairs.

Neighbourhood
The location of the apartment in East Fremantle is fantastic, as it is close to the Swan River, restaurants, coffee shops and pubs, all within easy walking distance. There is also a very good 24 hour supermarket across the road from the apartment.
Getting to my home
The easiest way to get around Perth is to hire a car, as it is a sprawling city that the public transport system struggles to service fully. However, my home is in a good location to be able to use public transport and/or walking to get to the main attractions of Perth and Fremantle if you would prefer to do that. It will take longer to get to places without a car, but I think there can be value in the slower pace sometimes, allowing you to appreciate your surroundings a little more. But the choice is up to you :)
Nearest airport
Perth International airport is 28km away. By car it is between 35 and 50 minutes away depending on traffic. Public transport takes about 1.5 hours.
Getting Around
Fremantle is a half hour walk away, but there is also a bus stop very close to the apartment that will take you there in about 6 minutes. There is a train station nearby at North Fremantle (2.1km away) that will take you into Perth city, or alternatively there is a couple of bus routes that will take you there.

I am travelling with my partner currently. I live in a beautiful apartment near the Swan River and Fremantle, in Perth, Western Australia. I love to travel and I have experience with a home exchange back in 2009 in the UK.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
