General Overview

Our house is new and clean and set up for real life. Located in Bahia Ballena in Uvita. The location is ultra convenient for everything you'd want in a trip to Costa Rica! We’re right down the road from the main entrance of Marino Ballena National Park - also known as Whale's Tail Beach. The beach is actually shaped like a whales tail and it’s a prime spot for whale watching. There are plenty of surf spots, rivers and waterfalls that’s are great for adults and kids, TONS of community events. Including markets every Wednesday and Saturday right down the street. Beautiful gyms, restaurants, pools, healthy food options… There are load of options for kids programs. They accept temporary children as they are used to having people come and go here. I am happy to help suggest and pick the right option for you! We are about an hour south of Jaco (a popular surf spot) and about and hour and a half north of Corcovado National Park.. which is one of the WORLDS most biodiverse regions. We highly suggest leaving time for a drive down to Corcovado if you love nature and tours. It really can't be beat. There are also endless tour options here locally. If you like to surf, this is the spot. My husband, a Santa Cruz surfer boy, picked this location our of everywhere in the world, for the easy access to epic surf!

The Space

3 bedroom, 3 bathroom home. Open concept living room and kitchen area is open and airy. Additionally, there is an open area for stretching, playing games. We have a good sized pool that is the perfect temperature all year. The two front bedrooms share a bathroom. One has a King sized bed and the smaller room has twin. The master bedroom has a king sized bed and it's own bathroom, And the third bathroom is outside at the pool with an outdoor shower. The entire house is meticulously kept by a neat freak and cleaners who come weekly.

Guest Access

The house is a single level. It should be noted that the pool is not gated. If you have small children, I have a swim coach who can come to the house to teach your kids to swim!

Notes

We are centrally located. We are right between town and the beaches. Restaurants, markets, pharmacies, beaches are all easily accessible. I really value cleanliness, so please only request if you're okay with that. We are a shoe free home and always rinse off after the pools and beaches. We also don't eat or drink in bedrooms or on the rugs to keep the house clean and critter free! 😂 You can rest assured your home will also be treated the same! Your home would be in loving hands! I strongly suggest having a car for ease of getting around. Especially for mini road trips.. there are so many incredible things to see and do in and around the area! BUT we see people getting around with just bikes or mopeds (which can be rented in town). If you don't have kids, that's more of an option.

Getting to my home

We suggest flying into San Jose Airport. Make a pit stop in Jaco or Manuel Antonio!

Nearest airport

San Jose Airport is a 3 hours drive from Uvita. I have contacts for pick up at the airport and transport down to Uvita. Make the most of the drive and stop at some of the popular spots along the way like Jaco, Manuel Antonio (Quepos) and the Crocodile Bridge!

Getting Around

Everything is about 5 minutes away in this town. Including beaches, restaurants, delis, supermarkets, gyms and shops. Everything is convenient. There are lots of places to explore in the neighboring towns of Dominican and Ojochal also!

Hi! We’re a family of FIVE - husband and wife together for 17 years (whoa!). And Three awesome kids, who just turned 8 and 5 (again.. whoa!). And a brand new baby! We've spent the greater part of the last 5 years traveling full time around Central and South America and Europe. Just two little backpacks and two little babies. We decided it would be nice to have a home base since our kids are getting to the age where they're craving steady friendships. But we still travel regularly. PLU is such a cool way to do it! Out of all the places we visited, we kept coming back to Costa Rica. The people, the beaches, the wildlife and the food are epic. THE SURF 🏄‍♀️🤩 We are happy, respectful, loving people. Our kids are kind and well behaved. We love them AND we like them 😂♥️ We don't smoke or drink. We’re easy going travelers. We work from home, so we can pick up and go at a moments notice for any length of time. I am a certified neat and clean freak. It’s important to me that we leave any place as we found it :) Your home will be in very caring hands.
