Neighbourhood

The house is located on an island north of Stockholm, but road and bridges all the way. Countryside and closeness to the woods and the sea. The place is best in the very late spring, summer, early fall or snowy winters. Unfortunately the winters are getting more and more unpredictable, which is the reason I recommend other times of the year to visit, but if you really want to, it will most likely be available. A snowy winter day is beautiful! A rainy... not so. NB! For daily sightseeing in Stockholm, this house is too far away. This is another vacation. Read more about the surrounding area: https://www.roslagen.se/en/visitroslagen/ You could also make even just a day-trip to the Åland Islands, where I grew up: https://www.visitaland.com/en/ . The ferry goes from Grisslehamn: https://www.eckerolinjen.se/en NB! Åland belongs to Finland, so you would have to bring your passport or national id-card on the ferry.

Nearest airport

Arlanda (ARN), Stockholm. Appr 1h 30min to drive.

Getting around

If you will be staying for more than a few days, we recommend renting a car to be able to move around in a bit bigger circles. Still, we come here by local transport (bus) from Stockholm, as we have got a bus stop right by our house, due to the former owner, who lived here permanently, being a teacher and carried plenty of books everyday. Search for Digrudan at: https://sl.se/en . 10 minutes walk to the closest grocery store. We have about three adult bikes and two-three junior bikes for you to use. Kayaks possible to rent from https://www.roslagen.se/en/visitroslagen/104288/Arholma-Nord, https://vaddokanotcentral.se/ or http://fejanoutdoor.se/
