Writing this feedback brings a huge smile on my face. We had the immense pleasure of being allowed to stay at Bodil & Gert's place on Singö island....and it was unforgettable, from beginning to end. Bodil was there to meet us upon arrival and she showed us everything we needed to know...and took off for Stockholm again. Communication with her before, during and after the exchange was simply wonderful. She was quick in replying, in answering questions, in sharing information and knowledge of the island. Singö is oh, so pleasant and oh, so beautiful. The forests filled with blue- and lingonberries, and mushrooms galore, the pleasant walks all over the island, the small meadows and romantic red wooden houses, the gorgeous coastline and the gentle waves of the Baltic Sea, with the Finnish Aland Islands at the horizon, friendly neighbors in the small village (with an excellent store and a beautiful wooden church) and grazing deer in the fields. A Scandinavian dream....
Bodil & Gert's home is wonderful. It's warm, it's cosy, it has plenty of DVD's to watch a movie, it has all one needs for a great retreat. Perfect beds, a well equipped kitchen, a pleasant sittingroom with a fireplace, and even a pingpong-table in the basement. Bodil made us feel so welcome, with handpicked berries in the fridge, plus a jar of home made jam....such a delight.
We cycled all over the place, walked all the paths that criscross Singö, swam in the icecold Baltic Sea, sat on the rocks and stared at the sea, read thick books in the evening....and had quality time with our daugters who came for a visit, one after the other. And now we're trying to find a way to get one of those red wooden houses ourselves, as a summerhouse ! Obviously we never wanted to leave. Wanted to live like a local for months longer. Drove home with teary eyes. It has been one incredible experience. Singö stole our hearts. Thank you so much for sharing your happy place with us. Dearest Bodil, Gert and Jonathan: namasté
