General overview
Our home is a beautiful spacious house from 1929, with a cozy garden. It is set in a quiet and friendly neighbourhood, between the two twin cities of Porsgrunn and Skien. The house in renovated in later years, so heating, bathrooms etc. satisfies today's standards, but it has kept the charms and stately feeling from the 1920s.
We have two friendly and easy-going cats (brothers) that comes along with the house.
Our electric car is also available during the stay.
The space
There is a large kitchen on the ground floor, with access to the veanda and garden. On the ground floor is also two living rooms and a large bathroom. One of the living rooms are mainly used as a TV-room and play room for our kids.
Upstairs are four rooms and a bathroom.
Room 1: Single bed
Room 2: Small single bed
Room 3: Is being used as home office, but can be used as a bedroom if needed (we have a portable bed that can be placed in this room.
Room 4: Double bed and a big sofa.
We also have a basement with a toilet and washing room, extra fridge and freezer.
In addition to the garden, there is a nice little area on the south side of the house. Great spot for enjoying morning coffee!
On the property is also a double garage and a garden shed.

Neighbourhood
The neighbourhood is nice and quiet, and the neighbours are calm and friendly. It is only a short walk to the river if you fancy a swim in the cold water. At the end of the street there is an open field with football goals.
The nearest grocery store is only a 10 minute walk.
Skien Fritidspark is 5 km away. There you'll find a water park, climbing park, ice rink and a big forest with many trails, frisbee golf and ski tracks in winter.
Brekkeparken is an open air museum with a beautiful park and old norwegian cottages, only 6 km from our home.
The only porcelain factory in Norway is in Porsgrunn. Here is also a porcelain museum.
Skien is the start of Telemarkskanalen, and you can go by boat from Skien to different places in Telemark and discover the beautiful scenery.
Skien is also a good starting point for day trips either to the coast or to the woods and mountains of Telemark.
Getting to my home
Trains goes directly to Porsgrunn from both Oslo Airport, Sandefjord Airport and Oslo Central Station. Porsgrunn station is the nearest train station, and from there you can catch a bus, that stops only 150 m from our house.
Nearest airport
The nearest airport is Torp Sandefjord Airport (49 km). Oslo Airport Gardermoen is 208 km away, with a direct train service to Porsgrunn and Skien.
Getting around
We have an electric car available and bikes (two adult, 1 junior and 2 kids).
Bus stops are only 150/300 metres away (depending direction). Porsgrunn city centre is 3,5 km away, and Skien city centre is 6 km away.

We are a family of four: Karen and Ben, with kids aged 9 and 4. We used to travel and live abroad before kids, but have in the past years settled in beautiful Telemark.
Ben works in e-commerce and loves sci-fi. Karen is a singer and actress and works in the cultural industry.
We're now looking for home exchange during vacations, ands perhaps longer periods.
