General overview
Our house is unique in a lot of ways. We first fell in love with the size of the lot. While it’s not acres of land, it’s large compared to what the new developments give you, sitting on 8200 sq feet of land.
My other favorite is our big beautiful old shade tree in the front which we sit beneath on hot days. We are one of the shadiest homes in the neighborhood! Which keeps us nice and cool outside.
The other part that’s so great is how quiet our street is yet we are close to EVERYTHING in Santa Rosa. Close to the roads that take you to wineries and highways to get to other adorable cities like Sebastopol and Petaluma and Healdsburg. Close to one of the chicest shopping centers, Montgomery village, close to trails, two blocks from the most beautiful park in Santa Rosa, Doyle park, and close to some of the best food in the world.
I also like that our house was built in the 50’s so it’s single story, it has era specific features which you can’t find anywhere in new builds.
Our backyard is a dream! Soon to have a sauna! It has a veggie and fruit garden, and a play structure and waterfall! There’s so much shade to relax under. It’s my dream urban backyard! Having small children in a house like this is a dream! They can play outside and I know they’re safe and can see them from the kitchen most of the time. I love that our kitchen is large and opens to what we made into a dining room/sitting room.
One day we’ll open the kitchen up to our living room also, but our dining room is a big hang out area as well with big windows and a couch to relax on.
