General Overview
Welcome to our lovingly restored 17th-century stone mill, tucked away in the mountains just outside the medieval village of Mora de Rubielos. This is a place where you can truly slow down. Wake up to birdsong, enjoy your morning coffee surrounded by nature, and spend your evenings under some of the clearest star-filled skies in Spain.
One of the reasons we fell in love with this property is its remarkable natural energy. Many visitors remark on the extraordinary sense of peace here. Nestled between mountains and flowing water, the property occupies a location that feng shui practitioners would consider especially harmonious, creating a feeling of balance, renewal, and connection with nature.
Thick stone walls keep the home naturally cool in summer while preserving the warmth and character of centuries past. Every room has been thoughtfully renovated to respect the history of the mill while providing modern comforts.
Outside you'll find peaceful terraces, mature trees, quiet corners to read or meditate, and open spaces perfect for sharing meals, practicing yoga, or simply listening to the sounds of nature. Whether you're seeking adventure or complete relaxation, the setting naturally invites you to disconnect from everyday life.

Notes
We travel in two typically, either my husband and I or with my childhood friend. We prefer to do similar exchanges unless we have a need for a larger group with my family.

The Area
The location is one of Spain's best-kept secrets. Just 3 km away lies Mora de Rubielos, one of Aragón's most beautiful medieval towns, home to a magnificent 14th-century castle, charming plazas, cafés, restaurants, artisan shops, and lively summer festivals.
Just 15 minutes away is Rubielos de Mora, officially recognized as one of Los Pueblos Más Bonitos de España, with beautifully preserved stone streets, galleries, boutiques, and excellent restaurants.
Within easy driving distance you can also explore:
Puertomingalvo, a spectacular mountaintop medieval village.
Mosqueruela, surrounded by ancient walls and full of historic architecture.
Albarracín, often considered Spain's most beautiful medieval village.
Teruel, famous for its Mudéjar UNESCO World Heritage architecture and the Lovers of Teruel legend.
The dramatic limestone landscapes of the Maestrazgo region.
The Valdelinares and Javalambre ski resorts during winter.
Nature lovers will find endless opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, birdwatching, horseback riding, fishing, and photography. Hundreds of kilometers of marked trails wind through forests, rivers, canyons, and mountain landscapes. Wildlife sightings are common, including deer, wild boar, foxes, eagles, vultures, and countless bird species.
Just a short walk from the house is a beautiful emerald mountain lake, perfect for a peaceful stroll, a picnic, or simply enjoying the tranquility of the surrounding forest. The nearby rivers and natural springs make the area wonderfully green throughout much of the year.
Summer temperatures here are pleasantly cooler than much of Spain, making it an ideal escape from the heat, while autumn transforms the forests into spectacular shades of gold and red. Winter often brings snow to the surrounding peaks, creating a magical landscape.
Perfectly Located
Although the mill feels wonderfully secluded, it is remarkably well connected.
Valencia and its Mediterranean beaches are less than an hour away.
Zaragoza can be reached in under two hours.
Madrid is approximately three hours by car.
The Costa del Azahar beaches are about 90 minutes away.
Whether you spend your days exploring medieval villages, hiking through pristine mountain landscapes, enjoying local cuisine, skiing in winter, or simply relaxing on the terrace with a book, you'll discover why so many people fall in love with this unique corner of Spain.
For us, this is much more than a home—it is a sanctuary. We hope you'll experience the same sense of peace, inspiration, and connection that made us fall in love with it.

Ildiko and Ken
We are an active couple in our early 50s & 60s who love great community, experiencing diverse cultures and enjoying slow food. We have done over 50 successful home exchanges in 10 years on different platforms, which brought our travels to a different levels and we made life time friends around the world. For us, it's much more than just exchanging homes, we share experiences.
We moved from California to Valencia, Spain in 2018, to continue my education in holistic medicine and open a yoga/healing center.
Both Ken and I are passionate about healing the mind, body and soul and living in harmony with nature.
We are an active couple always looking for great bikes rides and hikes, connecting with people and diving in deep in local cultures.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
