Green-Wood Cemetery (the eternal home of Basquiat, Leonard Bernstein, and many others) has avant-garde events all year long. It's not your typical cemetery, whatsoever. In the mid-19th century, it was the top tourist attraction in NYC! Today it remains a tranquil oasis with walking paths through 478 acres filled with exquisite landscaping, ponds, statuary, and renowned architecture. If you’re lucky, you’ll even see a group of bright green Monk parrots perched in the trees — flocks of these tropical birds have made this special corner of Brooklyn their home since the 60s. With Prospect Park also nearby, you won’t find a greener or more peaceful place to live in NYC! Very easy street parking is abundant to boot.
The primary bedroom has a queen bed and the second bedroom has functioned as my ceramics space, office, or second bedroom. An in-unit stackable washer dryer makes your life so much easier too… you can spend your weekends enjoying your balcony and neighborhood instead of at the laundromat. The bathroom features a jacuzzi tub, perfect for unwinding at the end of the day.
The R is 5 blocks away and the F/G is 14 blocks away. The walk takes you past boutiques and cafes or two bus lines just down 7th ave.
