Hospitality Description: Although this is our primary home, we often travel to Ohio where we have family and a condo. We would like to earn a globe to use for a trip to Europe in 2025. Our goals are to explore Amsterdam or nearby; Portugal and also return to Ireland, which I love.

General overview

Our home has all the amenities required for a relaxing vacation. The surrounding neighborhood is quiet, yet we are 10 minutes from the main highway and near grocery and other stores. There is a small airport 15 minutes away that flies Allegiant Airlines only. The Ft.. Myers and Sarasota Airports are 45 minutes from Punta Gorda. Tampa is one hour away which also has a cruiseport in case you want to include a Caribbean cruise. There is so much sunshine to absorb and some of the most spectacular beaches in the U.S. with white sand and calm, warm, blue water. There are many attractions in nearby Punta Gorda including a shopping area called Fisherman's Village. There you can take a fabulous boat ride (Tiki or other types) to small islands nearby. Many sunset dolphin cruises as well). You would be only 45 minutes away from Ft. Myers where you can see the Edison/Ford summer homes and museum, eat at any kind of restaurant imaginable and enjoy what the bigger city has to offer. Sarasota is to the north of us where you will find the #1 rated US beach; Siesta Key. Other beaches down the southern coast are just as beautiful. We have everything you need for the beach; beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, beach towels and a wagon to assist you find the perfect spot on the beach. Orlando (Disney) is 2.5 hours away as well as other theme parks. Busch Gardens, Sea World and Zoo Tampa are 1 hour away. Plus we have an entire book of suggestions for every family including an Eco Tour with aligators and plenty of golf courses. Pickleball is also a huge sport in our area. We are a retired couple who also own a condo in NW Ohio where we visit with friens and family in the summer and holidays. We love to travel and are also interested in spending time near our combined 7 children located in Alaska, Texas, Wisconsin, California and Ohio. We would be interested in short trips to the eastern coast of Florida as well. We hope to connect soon.

The space

*There are 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, living room, kitchen and dining room. The master is on one side of the house and the other 2 bedrooms are at the other side of the house. * One bedroom has a king bed that can also be used as 2 twins. *The master bedroom has a king size bed and ensuite bathroom. *The last bedroom has a queen size bed. *We also have a portable crib for small children (under 2). You can enjoy the garden, pool and lanai where we love to spend a lot of our time. The space includes music and a TV.

Notes

Nearby are shops, restaurants, and stores like Wal-Mart. There are plenty of gas stations. The interstate is 10 minutes from our home. Our local airport (Allegiant only) is 15 minutes away. Ft. Myers and Sarasota airports are 45 minutes and have transportation to Punta Gorda. There are beautiful beaches within 40 minutes to 1 hour away. Boating, fishing and golf are also big in this area.

Neighbourhood

We live in a residential area with mostly small families and seniors. It is a quiet area with easy access to both Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda. Punta Gorda is a small town 20 min. from our home and has plenty of restaurants of every kind (German, Irish, English, Italian, Chinese, Thai, and much more). Small, local boutiques and shops are plenty. Port Charlotte has a large amount of shopping available of every kind. Our home is situated in a convenient part of the state, mid-way between Sarasota and Ft. Myers

We are recently retired empty nesters that love to travel around the U.S. and other parts of the world. Although we are new to this site, we have enjoyed being an Airbnb user for many years. We are respectful and clean. We love exploring new cities and cultures, particularly history, museums, or somewhere near our 7 combined children (Lima/Athens, OH, Ft. Worth TX, San Diego CA, Alaska or Sheboygan, WI). There are times when we enjoy having a larger family gathering to make even more memories!
