General overview
Cinnamon Lodge is our happy place. The kids named it because the logs look like cinnamon sticks. It's a place where our busy family can simply relax and have fun together. We've filled it with every convenience to make our weekends and holidays totally comfortable while keeping its rustic charm.
The space
Our home away from home is quite large, allowing everyone space to relax and chill.
The main floor has the master bedroom with king bed, the main bathroom, a living area with fireplace and small television, a large dining room with a table for 12, an eat-in area and large kitchen. It also has access to a wrap around deck overlooking the lake with a bbq, lounge chairs, sitting area, dining table, and pizza oven.
The upper loft is a cozy area that we class as our fifth bedroom if needed. It has a comfortable queen size sofa bed, a desk area, a library for adults and kids, and a games area with game table.
The lower level has a king bedroom, a queen bedroom and a bedroom with two sets of bunkbeds. It also has the second bathroom with shower. The main lower area with fireplace has a pool table, a selection of outdoor games, and a walk out to the lower terrace and stairs to the beach. Six stairs down is the hockey themed game room with dart board, poker table, big screen television and bar area.
Outside we have a green house with veggies and on the upper balcony we have pots filled with a variety of herbs which guests can use. We have two kayaks, two stand up paddle boards and a lilypad for water fun. We also have life jackets for adults and kids as well as fishing rods and, in winter, snow shoes. Beside the cottage is a fire pit area with benches which can be used as long as there are no fire bans in place.
Guest access
The chalet has three floors, some may say four. Access to the main floor has a two step entry. There is one flight of stairs to the upper loft and one flight of stairs to the upper level of the ground floor. There are six stairs to the lower level of the ground floor. The beach is accessible by stairs from the lower level of the cottage or by gradual decline coming alongside the stairs. There are four stairs from the land to the beach area.
Notes
The chalet rests on beautiful Lac a Charette but it is part of a reservoir so the sand beach is only accessible at times of low water level which, in summer, usually starts at the beginning of August. Otherwise the dock is accessible directly from the raised shoreline.
We don't have AC but we've honestly never needed it. The logs keep the cottage well insulated and it remains cool throughout the summer.
Our daughter has severe allergies so we don't allow pets. We do have a small 'hypoallergenic' shih-poo though. We also ask that guests don't bring nuts or peanut/nut butters into the cottage so we can keep her safe.

Neighbourhood
We are on a private road with several other cottages but none are visible from our own so it remains private and very quiet. We are 15 minutes by car from the local village with grocery, hardware store, bakery, restaurants, medical clinic, pharmacy and liquor store. We are 30 minutes from the nearest hospital in Mont Laurier.
Getting to my home
Guests can fly into Ottawa airport (1h50 distance) or Montreal airport (2h30 distance). It will be necessary to rent a car as there is no public transportation to the chalet but these are readily available at both airports.
