General Overview

The house is situated in a lovely quiet area in a forest with a beautiful garden around it, surrounded by nature. There are many hiking trails, cycling routs and mountain bike trails around. You will be able to see lots of birds, red squirrels, highland cows, deer and maybe a badger. All while still being close to a super market and the historic city of Nijmegen. There is a train station nearby and you can reach almost the whole of the Netherlands within 2.5 hours by train. The Netherland have a good bus and train network and lots of museums to visit. There’s a working windmill nearby, where we alway buy our flour. There’s a bread making machine in our kitchen, so you can also give it a try. There is also a lake nearby for swimming and you are also able to rent a sailboat, motor boat or canoe or sup/surf. The lake has a beach-bar to have a drink as well. But please also enjoy our lovely garden and our little peaceful heaven. Our little heaven also has 4 cats, that would love some cuddles every once in a while 😉 The house has a robotic vacuum cleaner to clean up after them. People with small children should be aware there is a staircase to the basement without a door to make it baby/toddler proof.

The Space

Our 148 m2 bungalow has a driveway and parking space for your car. The garden has complete privacy. You enter the house via a hallway that ends in an open-plan living with a fully equipped kitchen. There are two big roof windows to always make sure for lots of light in the living areas. This side of the house has a covered terrace over the full side of the house. On the south side there are two other terraces, one attached to the living room, one to the bedroom. The bedroom terrace has the first rays of sun and is a lovely place to have your breakfast. From the living room you can go into the other part of the house, where you will find a modern bathroom with a second toilet, shower and a sink. There is one bedroom with access to the garden and on the other side of the hallway there is a home office. There is also a basement with a second bedroom (with windows and daylight!), with 2 single beds and cat feeding stations. The second basement room has a washing machine and a dryer. The cat feeding stations could be moved during your stay.

Guest Access

The living areas are all on the ground floor. The basement has a laundry machine and a cat area/ guest room.

Notes

Guests need to take care of the cats. They need feeding and meds twice a day. And cuddles 😻 If you would like to stay away for the night, we can arrange for a cat sitter.

Neighbourhood

The neighborhood is quiet, there are a few forest cafe’s, restaurants and an ice cream parlor within walking distance. There are a few supermarkets within 5 km distance and there is a train station nearby (3 km). The town Groesbeek (8 min by car) has quite some shops and some cafes/restaurants.

Getting to my home

You can get to the house by airplane and train followed by a short taxi ride or a 40/20min walk from the train/bus station for the adventurist. Or by car.

Eindhoven 50 km Amsterdam 101 km Weeze (DE) 36 km (less interesting if you continue by train)

Getting Around

Supermarket (2 km) Village (3 km) Train station (3 km) Bus stop (2 km) Lake (4 km) All by foot or car. Nijmegen historical city (15 km) By bike (available at house) or car. There are tons of museums in The Netherlands, there’s a zoo nearby (20 km), an amusement parc “Efteling” (Disneyland Paris like) (60 km) etc. Our car will only be at your disposal when mutually agreed upon.
