General Overview

An antique saltbox, our home was built in 1746 and was originally 2 buildings, one serving as the first schoolhouse and the other a home, tavern, general store, and post office. Our home is in a safe, central suburban location - less than 30 minutes north of Boston, Massachusetts, and 20 minutes from most local beaches. It has a private, large outdoor space with a stream, woods, a garden, a large patio and driveway, and patches of open grass. There is a trampoline, skateboard ramps, a basketball hoop, a ninja line, a zip line, a hammock, and yard games. There is traffic noise (the home is shaped like an L along the outside corner), but only during hours of commute, and the yard is set back, and the noise fades into the background once crossing the stream, which splits the yard into two. There is a land bridge to get to the other side. The stream feeds into a river across the smaller street at the front of the house, where there is a 3-mile bike trail ending in a playground and baseball fields. Along the trail is a pond for fishing and access to launching spots for kayaking. The home was renovated approximately 15 years ago and opened up, leaving a large central fireplace. We have since added central air, a new water system, closet organization, and updated the kitchen and bathrooms, along with the patio, driveway, and more. While it is a large home with 4 bedrooms (2 primary bedrooms) and 3.5 baths, you immediately feel at home - the love of each owner shows with every detail. There are over 50 windows throughout the home, offering ample natural light throughout.
