General overview
Family friendly home in the beach village of Oakura, Taranaki. Wander down the street to the beach for a swim, stroll, surf or explore; or simply enjoy a good book from the bed or corner window seat admiring the waves and glorious sunsets over the ocean.
The space
This is our family home so it is well equipped. Located a short stroll from Oakura beach, open up the slider doors to let the sea breeze float through the open plan lounge, dining and kitchen. From the master bedroom you can see the ocean from the super-king bed. A further two bedrooms both have queen size beds. Fresh linen, bedding and towels are provided for your stay. November through to March is a lovely warm summer climate for you to visit and enjoy the nature surrounding us from the mountain to the sea.
The window seat in the lounge is perfect spot for a morning coffee, but underneath is stacked with board games, cards and puzzles. Home comforts include SKY TV with SKY sport, wireless high speed internet, Apple TV with Netflix, Bose wireless speaker and a PS3 with a selection of games.
Outside the kids can burn off some energy on the tramp, jungle gym and swing. We have plenty of space to run around. Relax in the spa pool next to the covered outdoor dining area with open fire. Heated outdoor shower to wash off after the beach.

Key safe provided for self access. Single level home with plenty of off street parking.
Notes
We have two cats, Minti and Jeffrey, who are happy to stay at home while we are away. We hope to swap homes with people that are happy to top up their food and water and give them some love and attention. They are fine to be left alone for a few days if you wish to explore or if you plan on travelling elsewhere for a longer period we can make alternative arrangements for someone to feed them in your absence. We have family nearby that can assist should there be any issues.

Neighbourhood
Oakura is a small community and very family friendly. You really don't need to leave but with the Oakura coastline to explore, epic waves to surf, golf course around the corner or ranges and mountains to climb there's no shortage of things to do.
Getting to my home
International flights to Auckland have regular connecting flights to our local New Plymouth Airport which is located 30 minutes drive away. You can book an airport shuttle or taxi to travel to Oakura from there.
Nearest airport
New Plymouth Domestic airport is a 30 minute drive with connecting flights from Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch International Airports.
Getting around
Oakura is a small town but has a few great cafes, restaurants and boutique shops along with the convenience of a local grocery shop and petrol station all within walking distance. You can have use of our car to get around, New Plymouth is the closest city and is 15 minutes drive away.

We are a family of 4 who want to embark on a family travel adventure. We have a 10 year old boy and 7 year old girl.
We are very clean and tidy, I have a background in hotel management and also manage and clean our home as a short term rental so I am no stranger to keeping a clean, tidy, well presented home. We also love animals so happy to feed and care for pets during our stay.
