Our home is bright, clean, and comfortable. It's an oasis where we relax, play, and also where I work. The flat is cool and quiet and backs up to a school, so it's very peaceful in the summer. We live a stone's throw from beautiful Richmond Park, the largest of London's royal parks and home to thousands of deer. We're also quite close to Kew Gardens. Buzzing Richmond village is a short walk away, with trains to central London in 24 mins!
The space
We live in a spacious ground floor flat with high ceilings and parquet wood floors. There's a private patio with direct access to peaceful communal gardens. It's warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
KITCHEN: Has a gas stove, electric fan oven, microwave, dishwasher, air fryer, Nespresso machine, juicer, blender, etc. There's a washing machine and electric clothes drying rack.
LIVING/DINING ROOM: The kitchen opens up to the living area with a table for 4 (two adult chairs, a Tripp Trapp adjustable high chair for babies/toddlers, and a kid's chair) and a large sofa that seats min. 5 people. There's a TV and toys, games, and books. There's also a spin bike if that's your thing!
KIDS' ROOM: The largest bedroom is the kids' room, with two single beds with foam mattresses and an art desk (and plenty of toys, costumes, books, and puzzles for children aged 3+).
BEDROOM 2: This is my room...it has a UK King-sized bed and comfortable Simba mattress (150x200cm), closet and storage.
PATIO: There are sliding glass doors that lead from the living room to the patio, with an l-shape outdoor sofa and a gate that leads out onto quiet, semi-private communal gardens. You can then explore our gardens and duck pond. People rarely walk by...usually it's just foxes or badgers in the evenings!
OTHER SPACES: There's a large entry with plenty of storage and hooks, and a bright family bathroom with bathtub, overhead shower, and storage.
Guest access
Ground floor, single-story, ramp to get into the building. There's a code to get into the building.
Notes
One free parking spot and 2 visitor parking passes are provided. We have free communal heating so you can crank it up as hot as you want in the winter! Our building is from the 1960s and well-insulated...being on the ground floor it stays quite cool in the summer.
All we ask is that you treat our home as you would your own, are mindful of our elderly neighbours and to please take your shoes off inside the flat! And maybe do better with the plants than I do ;). Otherwise, mi casa su casa ;).

Neighbourhood
We live in a beautiful mansion estate with gorgeous communal gardens, lots of quiet benches to relax on, and even a duck pond. There's loads of space for kids run wild, with a football kickabout area, rope swings, and a woodland play area with teepee.
We are right on the doorstep to stunning Richmond park, an excellent place for walks and bike rides. We are also right next to Sheen woods, which has an adventure playground and millions of wild blackberries to pick in the summer! Kew Gardens isn't far away.
There are a few pubs, cafes, shops, restaurants, and a playground within 5-10 minutes walk, and walking a few minutes further will take you into Richmond village with loads of restaurants and shops and of course, the River Thames. Maybe you'll even see Ted Lasso...
There is a large Sainsbury's supermarket less than 10 minutes walk away. Richmond village is about 15 minutes walk away or easily accessible by bus. There's a fast train that can get you to Waterloo station in central London in 24 minutes.
Getting to my home
There are a few buses right in front of our flat with access to Richmond, Putney, and Clapham. There is also a train station less than 10 minutes walk away with trains to Waterloo station. From Richmond station there are more trains, including the District Line and Overground trains to central London.
Nearest airport
From Heathrow it's about 45 minutes in a cab, or approximately an hour by train. From Gatwick, it's about an hour by car or an hour by train.
Getting around
Easy to walk anywhere through the leafy streets of Richmond, or hop on a bus outside our flat. There are loads of shops, restaurants, pubs, and bars nearby. We're close to both Richmond and North Sheen train stations. Black cabs and uber are available, and if you drive, our flat comes with free off-street parking.

We are a small family of three...myself and my daughter - age 6 and son - age 4. I am American, and the kids are half-American/half-Spanish. They speak Catalan fluently, and I speak a bit of Spanish.
I am an avid traveller and have been to over 75 countries and have lived in the US, Seoul, Dubai, Barcelona, Costa Rica, and now London. I am eager to introduce my kids to all that this amazing planet has to offer! They're young and thrive on routine, so I think staying in someone else's home, particularly one already set up with toys, books, and "kid stuff," will make the experience easier for us all!
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
