General overview
30 min to Barcelona center and Beach. We have a lovely private grass garden surrounded by trees facing a very quiet residential street, a large terrace perfect for outdoor dining fitting 6-8 people, and a very large and airy open plan living room & kitchen, with large sliding doors /windows on 3 sides. Our gated residential community has ample communal gardens, a large swimming pool with a shallow waddle area for babies, playground, basketball court / football pitch and 24/7 concierge. We have not found another flat anywhere in Barcelona that is as green, tranquil, spacious and still close to the very quaint town center / high streets, the natural park of Collserola (one of the largest city parks in the world), and the train that takes you to Barcelona center and beaches.
The space
Our home is a ground floor flat with a large private terrace and private garden, full of trees (lemon, fig, olive), plants and herbs we have planted (lavender, basil, rosemary, sage, thyme and coriander). It has large ceiling to floor windows on both sides so gets breeze and lots of light all day long, while it is shaded from direct sun which makes the flat much cooler in the summer. The open kitchen and living room area is very large, and opens onto the terrace with an outdoor table and chairs, easily fit 6-8 people, and from there you go into the garden. We have a 1.6 meter wide bed in the master bedroom, and a 1.35 meter wide bed in the guest room. We use the other 2 bedrooms as a studio (2 full size desks and office chairs, one desk can be raised as a standing desk) and a storage room. The sofa pulls into a double bed. We have a crib for a child up to 5 years old, high chair, playmats, toys, boys and other baby/children things. Our residential community has a large pool with a very shallow section for babies, sun bathing area with loungers and chairs and grassy shaded area. It also has a private kids play ground, a basketball court / fenced flat area for ball games, and a club house next to the play ground that residents can use for events such as a child's birthday party. The streets around our flat are tree-lined and quiet as there are mostly houses (rather than flat/apartment buildings) on the streets, so not many cars pass.

Neighbourhood
We live in the Eixample neighborhood of Sant Cugat del Valles. Sant Cugat is one of the most desirable & family friendly suburbs around Barcelona, with tree-lined streets, wide sidewalks, many parks and play areas for kids, and a beautiful plaza major (town center square) around a 12th century monastery and very lively town center with many good restaurants (including vegan options), cafes and shops. Eixample is full of turn-of-the-20th-century arte nouveau houses, many were summer homes of wealthy families from Barcelona. Therefore the streets are full of trees, are quiet, and best of all, it is close to Collserola Nature Park and the many hiking trails (about 10-15 min walk from our flat, depending on which trail), the town center (5 min walk) and the FGC trains (5 min walk from our flat) that comes every 5 minutes and takes you directly to the center of Barcelona in 30 minutes.
Nearest airport
Barcelona El Prat Airport is about 30 minutes by car, or 30-40 euros taxi. There is an airport bus that goes to Barcelona center and from there you can take the FGC train that will drop you off 5 min walking from our flat.
