General overview
Our 4200 sq ft 6 bedroom/6 bathroom home + pool is a spacious and beautifully appointed haven in West Los Angeles. We custom built our home to be a joyful sanctuary for our family, but also a welcoming place for entertaining our extended family and friends. Located in the Mar Vista neighborhood of West Los Angeles, we are 3 miles (10 minutes) from Venice Beach, 15 minutes from Santa Monica, and 20-30 minutes from Hollywood. We have several great parks in the area, are within walking distance from great coffee shops, delicious restaurants, grocery stores and a public library with the best children's librarian ever (ask for Melanie!).
The space
We have lived in Mar Vista for 20 years, and renovated our home (completed 2023) to feel like a vacation destination all year round. Walk up the front walkway through an integrated garden redolent with the scent of rosemary, lavender, and citrus blossoms. As you enter our home, you’ll be met by high ceilings with lots of natural light, subtle recessed lighting, warm wooden floors, and probably smell something delicious wafting from the kitchen. Each bedroom has delightfully comfortable mattresses, premium linens, and Sonos speakers to play your favorite music or white noise. Each bathroom has fluffy towels, spacious showers, and heated Toto washlet/bidet toilets.
There are plenty of options for entertainment at home. Our great room boasts a giant cozy couch for reading or viewing movies on an 85" TV. The playroom is stocked with boardgames, toys, art supplies, a piano, and a sofa that converts to a queen-size bed (which we sometimes do for a secondary movie area if the little kids and big kids want different films). Our backyard has a lawn for soccer, volleyball, and light saber battles. We have a heated pool and jacuzzi with an automatic cover for safety, adjustable colored lighting for fun evening swimming, and easy outdoor access to the playroom/pool bathroom/shower. There is also a hot/cold exterior shower for showering the sand off after a beach visit.
Mealtime is one of our favorite ways to spend time together as a family or entertaining our friends. The gourmet kitchen is a culinarian's dream with a 60" Wolf dual-fuel double-oven range, microwave, Sub-Zero refrigerator and freezer, blast chiller, 2 dishwashers, De'Longhi Dinamica Plus Espresso machine, instant hot/cold/sparkling water dispenser, etc. We have 3 different dining areas (formal dining room can seat 12, 9'x7' kitchen island seats 7 and patio dining table seats 14). The covered patio has built-in recessed lighting and heaters for year-round enjoyment of the seating/firepit area and the outdoor kitchen/BBQ and dining area.

4 porch steps up to 1st floor level: guest room (split-king adjustable bed & TV), guest bathroom (can be locked to become en-suite), dining room, mud room, kitchen, great room, play room (has sofa that converts to queen bed), pool bathroom, and covered patio/BBQ)
Staircase (17 steps) to 2nd floor level, which has primary suite (California King adjustable bed, walk-in closet, and en-suite bathroom with freestanding tub and walk-in shower), 2 bedrooms (double beds) with en-suite bathrooms, and 2 bedrooms (double beds) that share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom. There is a laundry room with 2 LG washers and 2 LG dryers.
Notes
Our home is a smart home with high-speed internet/Wi-Fi, Lutron adjustable lighting and motorized shades, and EcoBee climate control (both A/C and heat), Lockly locks, and Ring security alarm. We are Eco-friendly with solar panels, full-home water filtration, on-demand water heaters, and an Electric Vehicle charging station.
We are very tidy and respectful of other people's properties. We will treat your home with care and like it is ours, and would welcome you to do the same.

Neighbourhood
Mar Vista is a gem in West Side LA - lots of young families, great up-and-coming restaurants, parks, and provides easy access to the beach (Venice Beach is 3 miles, Santa Monica is 15 min by car, Manhattan Beach is 20 min by car, Hollywood is 20-30 min by car, downtown is 30-45 min by car). LA has an AMAZING food culture with plenty of farm-to-table establishments and inventive fusion cuisine. Los Angeles County has the largest foreign-born population of any county in the United States, and the food culture reflects that - succulent Korean BBQ, jeweled Persian rice, Japanese noodles and sushi, El Salvadoran pupusas, Baja-style street tacos, Oaxacan moles, Cantonese dim sum, Ethiopian stews, etc. ALL of these incredible flavors are either down the street from our house or within 20 minutes driving distance!

Getting around
We are open to guests using our 2 vehicles (1 electric Sedan seating 5 people, and 1 minivan seating 8 people). There is also public bus transportation within walking distance, and affordable Uber and Lyft transportation.
