General overview

Great location in central Hove. 5 min walk to numerous lovely shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. Large supermarket within 10 min walk. 7 min stroll from the beach. 30 min walk into Brighton city centre. Despite the central location, being on the 7th (top) floor it's wonderfully quiet (except occasionally when there's a big cricket match on - in which case you'll have an amazing view!)

The space

Guests enjoy full use of: - Living room with spectacular views over Hove County Cricket Ground, 65 inch TV, comfortable seating and a dining table overlooking the view - Well equipped kitchen with fridge freezer, dishwasher, oven, induction hob and dishwasher - Guest bedroom with king-size bed and clothes storage, linen and towels provided - Two bathrooms (one with large shower, one with bath) - Washer/dryer and space to hang clothes for drying - Large South-facing balcony with table & chairs and rooftop/distant sea views The dining table with views is where we usually sit to work, however remote working guests are welcome to use our office room if a quiet corner is preferred.

Four bedroom/three bathroom apartment on the top floor of a 1970s building overlooking Sussex Country Cricket Ground. We have a dedicated guest bedroom and bathroom. We use two rooms as our offices. An additional bedroom for guests may be possible. Apartment over 1 floor with lift to the 7th floor. There are several steps to get into the building.

Neighbourhood

Plenty of lovely cafes and restaurants within a short stroll. Brighton is vegan heaven (we'll be happy to share our favourite places to eat) but has something for everyone including, as you'd expect, great seafood... Loads of gorgeous pubs, nightlife of all kinds, theatre, live music... The beach - NB it's pebbles not sand! And miles of seafront to walk and cycle... South Downs National Park - surrounds the city. Worth exploring for countryside walks... For day trips to the capital, London is c. 1 hour on the train with routes from both Brighton and Hove rail stations. Brighton and Hove is a unique city: cosmopolitan but alternative-friendly, liberal, quirky and colourful, full of character and never boring!

Getting to my home

Both Brighton and Hove train stations are a short taxi ride away (Hove railway station is only 10-15 min walk away).

Nearest airport

London Gatwick is 35 min drive away and there are trains to both Brighton and Hove rail stations from Gatwick Airport.

Getting around

The flat is centrally located within Hove so a car is not necessary. For long stays however, we may be able to arrange a parking space. Train and bus routes give easy access to London and other places to visit along the coast and surrounding countryside. The South Downs National Park surrounds Brighton & Hove so escaping the city for beautiful country walks is very achievable without a car. We'll be happy to give further guidance and recommendations specific to your trip.

Rosie & Luke

We are Rosie and Luke, a professional couple (47 and 44) based in the seaside city of Brighton & Hove, UK. We have no dependents and work remotely so we're open to exchanges anywhere, any time. Outside of the UK we prefer longer term swaps (2 weeks up to several months) to minimise our travel impact. We are happy to look at homes where dog sitting is required. We are experienced house and pet sitters - new to PLU but can provide house sit references. We are houseproud, caring and quiet house guests.
