General Overview
We live in a great location in central Hove, 5 mins' walk to lovely shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. Large supermarket within 10 min walk. 7 min stroll from the beach. 30 min walk into Brighton city centre. Despite the central location, being on the 7th (top) floor it's wonderfully quiet (except occasionally when there's a big cricket match on - in which case you'll have an amazing view!)
The Space
Four bedroom/three bathroom apartment on the top floor of a 1970s building overlooking Sussex Country Cricket Ground. We have one dedicated guest bedroom with kingsize bed. We use two rooms as our offices. One office has a comfortable sofa bed (small double, suitable for one adult). The other office has a small sofa bed, suitable for a child. We have a large south facing balcony with rooftop and distant sea views.
The apartment is over 1 floor, with lift to the 7th floor. There are several steps to get into the building.
Guest Access
Guests enjoy full use of:
- Living room with spectacular views over Hove County Cricket Ground, 65 inch TV, comfortable seating and a dining table overlooking the view
- Well equipped kitchen with fridge freezer, dishwasher, oven, induction hob and dishwasher
- Dedicated guest bedroom with king-size bed and plenty of clothes storage space
- Additional room 1 with small double sofa bed (suitable for one adult)
- Additional room 2 with small sofa bed (suitable for a child)
- Two bathrooms (one with large shower, one with bath)
- Washer/dryer and space to hang clothes for drying
- South-facing balcony with outdoor seating
- Bed linen, towels and a couple of beach towels provided
We occasionally make the master bedroom and its en-suite shower room available to guests, in addition to the above.

Neighbourhood
Plenty of lovely cafes and restaurants within a short stroll. Brighton is vegan heaven (we'll be happy to share our favourite places to eat) but has something for everyone including, as you'd expect, great seafood...
Loads of gorgeous pubs, nightlife of all kinds, theatre, live music...
The beach - NB it's pebbles not sand! And miles of seafront to walk and cycle...
South Downs National Park - surrounds the city. Worth exploring for countryside walks...
For day trips to the capital, London is c. 1 hour on the train with routes from both Brighton and Hove rail stations.
Brighton and Hove is a unique city: cosmopolitan but alternative-friendly, liberal, quirky and colourful, full of character and never boring!
Getting to my home
Both Brighton and Hove train stations are a short taxi ride away (Hove railway station is only 10-15 min walk away).
Nearest airport
London Gatwick is 35 min drive away and there are trains to both Brighton and Hove rail stations from Gatwick Airport.
Getting Around
The flat is centrally located within Hove so a car is not necessary. We do have a parking space, and if we are away in our car this can be loaned to guests by prior arrangement.
Train and bus routes give easy access to London and other places to visit along the coast and surrounding countryside. The South Downs National Park surrounds Brighton & Hove so escaping the city for beautiful country walks is very achievable without a car.
We'll be happy to give further guidance and recommendations specific to your trip.

Rosie & Luke’s apartment is absolutely beautiful and much bigger than we were expecting. It is dual aspect with views over the cricket pitch at the rear and beautiful sea views on the terrace at the front.
The apartment was super clean and they even set up an extra bed for my daughter so that my mother in law could also join us.
We had a lovely time in Hove and Brighton spending time on the pebble beach, visiting the aquarium and shopping. We also had an amazing Sunday lunch at one of the pubs Rosie & Luke recommended.
I’ve already told Rosie that we need to arrange another swap as I wouldn’t hesitate to go back!
Rosie and Luke are perfect hosts and i really enjoyed my stay at their beautiful home!
We absolutely loved Rosie and Luke’s home. A lovely, comfortable, spacious yet quiet apartment with so much light and optimism. The location was perfect for us. Close to cafes and restaurants, grocery options, a stroll to beautiful parks and the beach, with plenty of transport options nearby as well. Hove was also a delightful surprise. A really charming neighbourhood.
Rosie and Luke have been perfect hosts; great communication; and everything perfectly presented for our arrival. Thank you so much Rosie and Luke. You’re always welcome at our home in Portugal.
We absolutely LOVED staying at Rosie & Luke’s. Beautiful apartment with the most stunning views of the cricket grounds and the ocean. Wonderful hosts and can’t wait to return ☺️
Rosie and Luke were the perfect guests to our home. They were respectful and left the house cleaner than we left it for them!
They looked after our kitty and Rosie even sent me a photo when she managed to get some lap cuddles!
They put the bin out for us when requested and washed and changed the sheets before they left even though I said they didn’t need to.
I wouldn’t hesitate to host them again!
It was an absolute pleasure to host Jane, her mother in law and daughter at our place in return for our earlier exchange. They left the apartment immaculate and communication prior to and throughout the stay was great. We look forward to exchanging again in future!
Siri was a perfect guest. We arrived home to find everything super clean and tidy and hope Siri had a wonderful time in Hove :)
What an absolute pleasure to exchange with Liza and Brian. They looked after our home impeccably and we had great communication throughout the process. We recommend them without hesitation and hope we have the pleasure of meeting in person next time they are in the UK or if we visit Portugal. Thanks Liza and Brian x
We loved our stay in Sheffield. Jane's home is gorgeous, warm and cosy, tidy but comfortable. We were made to feel super welcome, provided with an excellent home guide and plenty of space for our things. Jane was on hand throughout to answer any questions. A lovely PLU experience all round :)
Hayley and David were perfect guests. Communication in advance of and during their stay was great and they took fantastic care of our home.
