General overview
Eden Prairie, consistently ranked “one of the best places to live in Minnesota”, is 25 minutes drive from downtown Minneapolis and 20 minutes drive from the international airport. The City has nearly 10,000 acres of land designated for parks and open spaces, miles of scenic views and a multitude of breathtaking lakes and beaches. The “Prairie” consists of rolling hills and bluffs overlooking the Minnesota River with many trails connecting to regional and state trails.
We love Eden Prairie because we are active, outdoor people, and we love Minneapolis because it is loaded with activities like sporting events, arts, culture, shopping and all kinds of outdoor fun.
Our home is on a quiet cul-de-sac within The Preserve - a community in a natural setting with the following amenities:
A sand bottom pool with ¾ acre water surface, a 42’ x50’ dive pool, showers, and dressing facilities.
187 acres of common properties, including 5 miles of walking paths and trails that wind through lovely neighborhoods and natural settings.
Lighted tennis and pickle ball courts.
A community center available to rent.
Five neighborhood play areas, a sand volleyball court, and outside picnic areas.

The space
We have remodeled our 1978 split-level a bit closer to our contemporary dream. Paul is an architect and Marie is half Japanese with “wabi, sabi and yugen” sensibility :-) On the upper level, the home has 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, an exercise room and the living spaces. The lower level has a separate suite adjacent to a recreation room. Both levels are joined with a 2-story entry area. It sleeps 4 people upstairs and 2 people downstairs on 2 king-size beds and one double size bed. The open kitchen, dining and living room and adjacent to the screened porch is great for dinner gatherings. It is perfect for several stay scenarios including a large group of 6, a family with friends, a family with grandparents or just 2 people.
We would love to see you enjoy the surroundings with our car, bicycles, stand-up paddle boards, pool table, dart board, cross country or downhill snow skis, rackets, fishing rods and board games. 400 mps DL WIFI speed and comfortable workspace.
The City train system (nearing completion) and regional bus station is 1.8 miles from our home. Ride service (Uber, Lyft, etc.) usually arrives within 5 minutes.
Guest access
The house is a split-level: entry at mid-level with stairs up to the living area and down to the suite /recreation room/

I am an architect with knowledge of the city and institutions. Marie used to marathon and race stand up paddle boards so she knows the lakes and trails.

Marie and Paul
Paul and Marie work remotely and travel often. We are new to PLU and excited to join the community. We have hosted have stayed in many different home scenarios in many of the United States, Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, several parts of Europe, China, Japan and SE Asia. We are retired!!! with flexible schedules and traveling often!
Our children are grown, some are married. We like to invite them to visit while we travel, but they have busy lives.
We appreciate nice homes and we like to keep things clean. We greatly enjoy meeting new people and sharing our home. Guests will receive our cell phone numbers and we are happy to help with questions or advice. We have family and friends nearby who can also assist if we are traveling.
We look forward to meeting you!
