General overview
Quiet two-room apartment near the Louvre in Paris for synchronous exchange during the Olympic Games.
The space
51 m2 two-room apartment overlooking a garden. Star-shaped layout: entrance and corridor lead to main room, kitchen, WC, bedroom, bathroom. Balcony.
Guest access
2nd floor (= “1er étage”) with elevator.
Notes
The apartment remains cool in summer even though it is not equipped with air conditioning. It is hardly exposed to direct sunlight (the white wall facing the apartment does reflect the sun, making the main room bright in the middle of a sunny day). You have to approach a window to see the sky.
The apartment's internal soundproofing is limited: a light sleeper may find it difficult to go on sleeping while someone is cooking (the kitchen adjoins the bedroom). More generally, the proximity of other apartments means you need to be discreet if you're on the balcony or even near an open window: the garden walls will reflect your noise back to our neighbors.
No television, dishwasher or microwave oven. Overall, the apartment has been furnished with great restraint.
Limited coverage by some cellular networks (no SFR reception, limited reception for Bouygues and Free Mobile). The apartment is connected to the internet.
We are considered responsible, precise and attentive to others. We will be respectful of your place and expect this respect from you in our home. To help you settle in, we've prepared a short guide; we'll also include a few labels in the apartment to indicate our expectations (such as the discretion near the windows mentioned above) and our recommendations for use.
