General Overview
Our house is a lovely two bedroom Victorian terraced property with a small garden in Walthamstow.
Walthamstow is an up and coming area with lots of lovely pubs, restaurants and cafes and great transport links to central London.
The Space
On the ground floor there's a spacious living and dining area and separate kitchen with a breakfast table by the french doors that lead out to the garden.
On the first floor there is a master bedroom, plus a second smaller but still good-sized bedroom, both with double beds. We're decorating the master bedroom in early May and can show pics then, but it's a lovely, big bright room with bay windows. The bathroom with bath and separate shower are also on this floor.

Nearest airport
Stansted Airport is our nearest airport, which is about an hour away door to door.
Getting Around
Our nearest tube station is Walthamstow Central station, which is a 15-20 min walk or 5 min bus ride away. From the station it’s about 20 mins on the Victoria Line to get to central London.
There are two overground stations nearby. St James Street station a 10 min walk away, from there you can get to Liverpool Street station in 13 mins. Walthamstow Queen’s Road station is a 12 minute walk away, where you can get to Gospel Oak (on the edge of Hampstead Heath) in 20 mins.
There are two buses that go from very near our house (1 min walk away) - the 58 and the 158, they take you to one of two tube stations, Walthamstow Central or Blackhorse Road, or in the other direction, Stratford, Leyton etc.
Sara’s home was the perfect landing place for our trip to London.
Bright, lovely and exactly as pictured, her flat was a ten out of ten for our family.
We’d be lucky to go back:)
Sara was a lovely guest, freely communicating and asking questions before and during the stay. She was positive, kind, and willing to assist with tasks, such as bringing in the recycling bins after they’d been picked up. Sara was flexible with scheduling her dates for the stay and cleaned/readied the house for our next guests, as we were away and unable to prepare it ourselves. I highly recommend Sara for future exchanges!
All is good with Sarah and family. They have been friendly guests and clean and respectful people with our place. Easy to communicate with and cheerful. We’ll invite to come back again when they want to.
Gina and her family were great guests. Very easy to communicate with and looked after the house really well. Had no issues at all. Highly recommend to others :)
Firstly, Leah’s house is fantastic. Huge (which I hadn’t realised from the photos), very modern, super clean, and has everything you could need. Leah herself is very thoughtful, leaving a lovely welcome package, which was such a nice thing to find when you arrive. She also gave lots of local recommendations and answered any questions I had really quickly.
If there was such a thing as super hosts on PLU she would be one!
The location is very convenient for exploring this part of Portugal. Some gorgeous beaches and an incredible coastal road. Also handy for a day trip into Lisbon.
Highly recommend Leah’s home to others!
We loved our stay at Mattia’s house in the beautiful village of Santa Fiora.
It sits right in the middle of the picturesque old part of the village in a tiny street and has views of the stunning Tuscan countryside.
The house itself was great, old and quaint - you felt like you were staying in a bit of Italian history - but still had the modern bits you need for a comfortable stay. There’s no private outdoor area, but a cute garden around the corner that’s shared with a few neighbours that you can use to have lunch or chill in.
You can see why Santa Fiora has been voted most beautiful village in Italy - it really is stunning.
In terms of things to do, we had two young teens with us who love water so we did day trips to some hot springs, the sea and other swimming spots - all fab. But there’s also plenty to do if you’re looking for culture and wineries.
Overall highly recommend a stay at Mattia’s!
