Neighbourhood
You'll find a rural pub serving pints and freshly cooked food, a traditional church offering celebration services such as Easter and Christmas (plus coffee mornings once a month where you can buy locally grown veg and homemade cakes), a children's play park with football pitch, tennis courts and basket ball hoop, lots of walking routes, friendly neighbours, wildlife such as deer, hedgehogs and badgers, woodland, fields and fenland for miles.
The nearest town is about 5 miles away and you will find shops, supermarkets, nightlife, a large park with duck ponds and play equipment and a wonderful outdoor pool.
Grimsthorpe Castle is about 10 minutes drive away and is a fantastic example of an English mansion. You can explore the grounds and tour the house. There is a large adventure playground there and friendly deer. 25 minutes drive will take you to Burghley House and the beautiful town of Stamford. The same distance in the other direction will take you to Belton House.
Historic Lincoln with it's castle and cathedral are nearby, as is Cambridge, Norfolk and the Lincolnshire coast. There is a quick train line that will take you into central London in less than an hour from Peterborough station.
Lincolnshire is known for its many Royal Air Force bases so if you are interested in planes you'll be in the right place! Lots of the bases have visitor days and you can view the jets taking off and landing in nearby Coningsby. There are several local aviation heritage centres, a Battle of Britain Memorial Flight visitor centre and International Bomber Command centre, which is a fascinating and touching look at the aerial bombings of the second World War.
You really will have lots to explore and do and we are more than happy to give recommendations.

Rowena
Hi! We're an adventurous family of 5 currently living in Lincolnshire, UK. Jonny is Head of 3D at a London based company producing animation for TV and film and Rowena is a Forest School Leader who loves to potter in the garden, paint and write in her spare time. Together we have 3 boys who are creative, caring, epic explorers! We'd love to use this opportunity to see more of the world and welcome others into our very special family home.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
