General overview
We love our flat with its new kitchen and dining area, we have made it the heart of the home. We live here year round and don't rent our unit, it is a home. We are close to the beach and can hear the surf most nights. We take daily walks down to the beach and around to the church and back up to the flat, it is a special 20 minutes we give ourselves! Luz is a family oriented vacation spot, no loud bars or discos. It is great for couples and families.
The space
The flat has two bedrooms and two baths. The master bedroom has a 200X200 bed, The second bedroom serves as our exercise room, where we keep our Pilates reformer. There is a pull down bed that you can see in the picture. We can move the reformer if guests need access to the second bed. Our kitchen and dining room has been transformed into one large modern space, with new flooring, ceiling, lighting and cabinets. The unit includes a washer and dryer and a dishwasher, which is novel for our building! There is a terrace on back and a Juliete balcony off the second bedroom. The back deck is very private, with good afternoon sun.
Guest access
The building is three stories, we are in the middle unit. Access is up one flight of stairs and single level within the flat. Parking is in front of the unit.
Notes
We have yoga and Pilates mats for your use as well as some other exercise items you can use. We don't make the Pilates reformer available though as it requires training to use.

Neighbourhood
We are in a small project of 23 units. Just to the west of us is the grocery store and pharmacy, a five minute walk. Go the other direction for the post office, beauty salons, cafes, etc, all within 5 minutes. The beach is due west, less than a five minute walk down to it, but a slight up hill coming home. There are numerous cafes and restaurants along the beach and in the town. There are trails up the cliffs and you can walk to Lagos on the cliff trail or west to Burgau along the beach.
Getting to my home
The closest airport is Faro, Portugal and we are 50 minutes away by car. You can also arrive by bus or train from Lisbon, via Lagos and then a ten minute cab or Uber to Praia da Luz. A bus also runs from Seville, Spain to Lagos.
The Algarve is a two and a half hour drive south of Lisbon. If you drive here, there is parking right in front of the building.
Nearest airport
Faro International Airport is 50 minutes or 90km.
Getting around
Two grocery stores are five minutes away. The closest restaurant is 200 meters. It is very easy to spend a few weeks here without a car, but if you want to go to Lagos (7 km away) there are buses, taxis and Ubers. Cab/Uberfare is 6-10 euro depending on the time of day. Luz is a very walkable community.
