Neighbourhood
This is a peaceful urban neighborhood in a quiet community on the waterfront. Urban sights and sounds are at a distance, and include the faint hum of traffic on the I-5 bridge, trains across the river in Washington, river boats, and planes flying overhead to and from PDX. None are intrusive.
There are a number of restaurants on the Island, including 3 Sheets and the iconic floating Island Cafe.
Downtown Portland is 15-20 min away via I-5 south, and downtown Vancouver, WA is less than two miles away to the north, sporting a newly developed Port with upscale restaurants, boutiques and waterfront pathways, a redeveloped old town, a hip uptown with pubs and vintage shops, and a killer farmers market on Saturdays and Sundays that features local organic produce, local nurseries, local artisans and a wide range of local cuisine.

I am an experienced traveler, recently widowed, with two adult children who occasionally travel with me. My husband and I spent several years abroad, and I am now looking for opportunities to exchange my condo on the Columbia River waterfront in Portland, Oregon for other locations both within the U.S. and abroad.
