Our main goal for our apartment was to create a wonderful and cosy home that can welcome friends, family - and even visitors from afar. The apartment is close enough to the city centre, but nice and quiet enough to relax after a long day of work or sightseeing. It has two bedrooms, a living room, a large well-equipped kitchen, a separate bathroom and toilet, and an extra room for work and storage. We really hope it's nice enough to make you feel at home from the first moment you arrive.
The space
During the day, most of our time is spent in our living room, a spacious, bright room connected to a well-equipped kitchen and dining area. It's where we keep our books, the TV and some of our son's toys, so we're all set to sit down on the comfy sofa and enjoy some time inside. When it's time to cook, you're not separated from your friends or family.
At night, however, it's off to the bedrooms. Our son's room is both spacious and bright (but in the evening you can darken it with shutters), and it's full of toys - mostly wooden toys, LEGO and some board games. You can sleep on a bunk bed here. The adult bedroom is nothing special, but we really enjoy that it's quiet and easy to clean :)
The bathroom and toilet are separate and the bathroom has a bath.
We also have a room that we use for work on weekdays and store our laundry and bikes here. This can come in handy if you're looking for a place to be alone for a meeting, a few hours of work - or just to relax :)
In the living room, the couch can be transformed into a double bed - it is not the most comfortable bed, unfortunately, but can accommodate 2 plus person (that's 6 guests in total).
Guest access
Our building has six floors, and every floor has four flats. Our flat is located on the second floor. You can get up to the flat on the stairs and with an elevator. (But please note that it is not completely wheelchair accessible, because after the main gate you have to climb approximate 8 stairs :()
Notes
Our flat comes with the cutest bunny of all :) Nitro (that's his name) lives freely in our living room. Since he's a bunny with bunny nature it's best not to move him around, so if you are comfortable with him staying with you, it would be nice if we could keep him at home. He won't bother you, needs feeding every other day (but we can ask our neighbour to help with this if it's more convenient for you).

Neighbourhood
Our neighbourhood is a nice district (the 13th) on the Pest side of the city. It is just outside of the grand boulevard of Budapest, which means it's inhabited by locals. There are playgrounds, parks, shops and the river Danube close to us. You can see lots of beautiful parts of the city from the bank. Having a long walk in the evening on the riverbank is a very calming experience and can easily convince you that Budapest is the most beautiful city in the world. You can also find a market in 15 minutes of walk - it is open everyday full of local vegetables, butchers and small shops.
Getting to my home
The flat is easily accessible by the means of public transportation. Actually, you will see, Budapest is quite strong in this field, most of our tourist sites can be reached by public transport - and most of the major lines are easy to get to from our flat. We are located 4 mins away from the closest subway station (Dózsa György metrómegálló) on metro line 3. There are trams and buses close to us. And if you plan on visiting the Hungarian countryside there are also train stations about 15-20 minutes from here.
Nearest airport
The nearest airport is Liszt Ferenc Airport of Budapest, from where you can take a bus and a metro to get here. But you might also consider the airports of Vienna and Bratislava, they are about 3-4 hours from here directly connected by bus lines.
Getting around
Getting around in our neighbourhood is the easiest on foot. Most of the shops and services are within walking distance. For going further our main recommendation is to use the means of public transport. But you can also use our bikes. They are nice and fast city bikes, ready for you to hop on them :)
We are a family of three living in downtown Budapest, Hungary. Me, Luca work at a children's book publishing house as an editor. Zsolt works in digital communication as a senior consultant. And our son, Miro is four years old, he is the sweetest boy and on weekdays he is in the kindergarten. We also have a dog, Bella and a rabbit, Nitro.
