General overview
We love the view and the proximity to the ocean and hiking trails (across the street). I enjoy watching the surfers and dolphins and the beautiful sunsets. Our home is comfortable and friendly with a relaxed vibe.
Our condo in Napili, Maui (Surfshack West) is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath with sofa bed in living room. It is on Honokeana Bay which translates to turtle cave. There are many turtles that make this bay their home and we enjoy snorkeling with them. We also see octopus, eels, tropical fish and whales in the distance during migration (Nov-March). There are a couple surf breaks there also and Napili Beach is a 10 minute walk away. This is our vacation rental and is looked over by a property management company. We would be happy to exchange it on occasion when available or we can use it if our primary home is wanted for an exchange.
The space
The property has many little areas where you can relax. The front yard has a fire pit and lighting for evening cocktails. The front side patio has a jacuzzi with an ocean view. The backyard has a loveseat swing and hammock and kids swings and a trampoline. Completely fenced and kid friendly. The back patio has a grill, seating and kids playhouse and basketball hoop. The house has nice bar seating in the kitchen with ocean view, The living room has a fireplace, ocean view and TV with cable etc... The house has 3 rooms that can sleep 2 each and playroom with a crib and an office space with a twin Murphy bed. We also have a pack n play and highchair which attaches to the counter if needed.
Guest access
You would need to access the house by stairs in the front or back entrances. Not really wheelchair friendly
The main access is to park in the alley driveway and come in through the gate. The front is often busy for parking with people accessing the coast, but we are up above the sidewalk giving us privacy.
Notes
We have 4 indoor/mostly outdoor cats that we would be very appreciative if you could feed twice a day and top off the water. They are pretty self sufficient. We have a golden retriever but he would stay with other family members.
We also have a condo in Maui on a separate listing.

Neighbourhood
We are 10 minutes from Cabrillo National Monument, 15 min. from Sea World San Diego, 25 minutes to the San Diego Safari Park (zoo), 20 min. to Downtown (Petco Park, baseball), 15 min to Lindbergh Field International airport, 30 min. to Coronado Beach, 1 1/12 hours drive to Disneyland
Our nearest beach is Ocean Beach, 10 min away by car and a quaint family bay (best kept secret) is Kelloggs off McCall street about 15 min away by car. Great for little ones with views of downtown and San Diego Bay
Getting to my home
The best way to get here is to fly into Lindbergh Field International airport and take Uber or Lyft to our house app. 15 minutes away.

I'm Carey and my husband is Martin. We are newly retired and ready to start seeing the world! We have four grown children, two daughters and one son have families of their own now and one daughter is just out of college. We are a very close family and vacation together when possible. We love the outdoors, whether it be at the beach tide pooling, snorkeling or paddle boarding , the mountains for the skiing or hiking and camping or events like century rides, running events or swimming. We have a beautiful home in San Diego overlooking Sunset Cliffs (Surfshack 733) and a vacation home in Napili, Maui (Surfshack West). We also have some cats, a dog and a turtle. We look forward to exchanging with the community on PLU, although this is our first go at it!
