General overview

We have renovated our dream house in the spectacular Orange wine region, a 3.5 hour drive from Sydney. We love our stunning kitchen with views in all directions; meals on our deck that looks directly to Mount Canobolas. and the utter serenity. Orange is the hub of Central West NSW, with amazing access to wineries, walks, biking, eating, caves, waterfalls and other towns

The space

We have 4 bedrooms, a home office, living/dining room, separate lounge/TV room, seperate music/reading room, all set on a gloriously private acre of garden. We love having no neighbours, utter privacy, multiple living spaces for playing, relaxing and having fun. We love being only 10 minutes from the heart of Orange, 5 minutes from Lake Canobolas and miles from care

Guest access

We have a gently sloping block with easy access via a circular driveway. The home has 3 steps that separate the living area from the bedroom wing.

Notes

As we are out of town, the house operates on tank water and septic. We have huge tanks and have never had any issues with water supply.

Neighbourhood

In the heart of the wine district, our home is a short drive to 25 cellar doors, a range of amazing food producers (apples, cherries) and a quick drive to Orange for great restaurants and cafes. We are a fun bike ride to Lake Canobolas and the mountain bike park nearby.

Getting to my home

Our home is a 10 minute drive from the centre of Orange, and a 3.5 hour drive from Sydney. Many people take in Orange as part of a broader tour of central NSW. We believe Orange has the best wine in NSW (much better than the Hunter Valley), and we experience genuine 4 seasons.

Chris

We are the Rawlins-Bicknell family - Chris, Sharon, Hugo and Eden (and of course our poodle Inca). We're new to home exchange, but not new to travelling. Sharon and I have travelled extensively in South and Central America, Europe and Asia. Originally from Sydney, we relocated to Orange NSW in 2018 to build our dream life - so far its exceeded our expectations. We love living in country NSW - the wine, the food, the walking, biking, amazing sunsets, mild summers and cosy winters. We live on an acre surrounded by cherry orchards and cattle lazily grazing and spend our evenings having fun in our dream house. Our boys are growing up fast and we want to give them experiences travelling out country and the rest of the world.
