We are at the end of a street so there is no traffic. Perfectly peaceful location and great for kids to play outside.

Puerto Morelos is perfectly situated just 15 minutes south of the Cancun airport and 30 minutes from Playa del Carmen. Day trips to Cozumel and Isla Mujeres are easy to do from here.

There are always fishing boats dotting the shoreline. You can hire a guide for a day of fishing, snorkeling, or diving.
The beach side of Puerto Morelos is small and charming. This is one of the best beaches in the Riviera Maya.

The famous leaning lighthouse adds to the charm of this peaceful village.
The Mesoamerican reef is directly in front of the beach, a 5 minute boat ride away. You can also snorkel directly from the beach and find many fish, rays, and even an underground cenote at Ojo de Agua.
We often see sea turtles and they nest nearby at Playa Punta Brava.
So many fish to see! There are also opportunities for SUP and kite boarding.
The Ruta de Cenotes offers many opportunities for swimming in a beautiful freshwater pool. One of our favorites is 7 Bocas.
A beautiful cenote near Tulum, called Dos Ojos.
The Maya Tren is currently being built. For now you can take the train from Cancun to Valladolid, Chichen Itza, Izamal, and Merida. All of these places are amazing to visit. Izamal is another pueblo magico and Merida is full of old Mexico charm.
“El Castillo” is the largest and most famous pyramid at Chichen Itza. Accessible in a long day trip from here.
