Padola is the place of my heart ❤ where I feel at home, I manage remotely and I make use of Giorgia, our precious collaborator, to prepare the apartments to best welcome the guest. My desire is for my guests to have the same feeling, the house was designed to be a holiday destination for my family too and its warmth shines through in the care taken in the choice of materials and details.
If you are well, we are with you too.
We hope to be able to welcome you soon to this little village which is the pearl of Comelico. See you soon! 😉

The Space
The apartment is very charming. It's a typical mountain apartment, completely renovated and furnished with Dolomite fir wood. The living area is in the basement with a French door and a bright window, allowing you to enjoy the pleasant coolness on summer days and the warm stube on winter days. The entrance to the apartment is separate from the shared entrance of the house. The sleeping area on the first floor has three bedrooms, two with double beds and one with a bunk bed.
The Fiocco di neve ❄️ apartment is heated by an independent system with an easy-to-use touchscreen thermostat. The radiators have valves to allow for temperature regulation in the bedrooms and kitchen (recommended: level 2 bedrooms and level 4/5 kitchen). In addition to the radiator, the living area features a heated mirror panel and a traditional Tyrolean stube stove. We invite you to use the stube right away to promote environmental comfort, as being in a mountain home often means outside temperatures are low. The stube is an ancient yet modern and eco-friendly method of enveloping yourself in radiant heat. You will be provided with all the information you need to start it, and we will provide you with wood. Those who are unable to light a fire are advised to come during the summer or consider other locations. The information provided for heating the home is clear.
Guest Access
The apartment is located in a bright basement with LED lighting for the kitchen and living area and the three bedrooms with bathroom on the first floor. A convenient, easily accessible spiral staircase connects the living area and the sleeping area.
Notes
To access the apartment, we will give you an access code so that you are as independent as possible.

Getting Around
The shops are all within walking distance.
The apartment is located in a late 20th-century building. It is 300 meters from the town square, not far from the ski slopes, which can also be reached on foot.
Padola, at 1,215 meters above sea level, is an ideal destination for families. It is a small village nestled in the Dolomites with all the necessary amenities: a well-stocked supermarket, a butcher, a bakery, traditional shops with their traditional flavors, a dairy with mountain products, a pastry shop, and small shops selling local crafts.
Silvia was very helpful and communicative prior to or exchange, willing to respond quickly to all our questions about the areas and hiking routes. Padola is a super cute village.
We were supposed to stay för a week but decided to leave after 12 hours due to a few things that I believe could be helpful for other potential guests to know, in order to manage expectations::
- the entrence, kitchen and tiny room with sofa is in the basement/cellar, ie under ground floor. This gives this part of the appartment (where you also spend most of your time) a damp side with a distinct smell of mold and damp. People with allergies or who are sensitive to mold should be careful. This smell is also distinct in the main bedrooom which is close to the small, steep stair that takes you to the bedroom floor. Two bedrooms and the bathroom is fine.
- What is described as a ”relaxing corner” is a small sofa in a corner of a room without windows, also damp and mold smell.
- It is an old house, and for everyone who have traveled in Italy, this is part of the charm. The profile states that this basment/apartment has been ”completely renovated”, which is true for the first floor but not for the kitchen.
- A suggestion to any guest would be to bring kitchen utensils such as a new dish brush or any cleaning items, as the ones found in the kitchen were old/dirty..
- Bring toilette paper
- Bring wine glasses if you love enjoying Italian wines
Once again, Silvia is a super helpful and communicative host and I really want to highlight all the support we received prior to our stay. However we feel the description in the listing doesn’t match reality so just want to highlight a few of those things so that the next guest has realistic expectations.
Good morning Malin and Martin, first of all, we'd like to say we're sorry you had to leave early, but we understand that if you felt uncomfortable, it wouldn't have been appropriate to stay.
Padola is a small but charming village located in the heart of the Dolomites, filled with historic houses, including our apartment, which dates back to the late 1800s. The various renovations carried out on our apartment comply with the strict regulations we have in Italy for historic houses under the superintendence of Venice. We recently redid the flooring and kitchen tiles, as well as the completely new bathroom and the relaxation room with real solid wood.
The furnishings are all made of genuine fir, and in the kitchen area we chose to keep the original furniture because, in addition to being well-maintained, it is a family heirloom. We also felt it unnecessary to replace existing furnishings with new ones, so as not to impact deforestation and to promote a broader ecological concept.
We've added a specification to the apartment description to clarify the layout of the apartment and its access. We hope this is now clearer.
Regarding the mold issue, we disagree with this observation as there are absolutely no traces or stains. We had stayed in the apartment for our vacation the previous few days, and some friends we hosted came to visit. Since we have our cat we did't open the windows for fear of it getting out, and the first bedroom where the guests slept was left closed. This probably caused a slight musty odor, but it's not mold. Furthermore, since we're in the mountains, even in summer when it rains or is cold, we always recommend turning on the stove a couple of times, given the thick stone walls, to acclimatize the environment.
The relaxation corner, as we wrote in the description, is a truly intimate space we created for reading a book or watching TV. We didn't write "large living room," and the photos published are real; there's little to the imagination. Sometimes i
We had a great time at Silvia's, it was fabulous to visit the Dolomites with our friends.
A moment out of time in a fabulous village off the beaten track but which has everything you could need!
From the baker, in the morning, to the butcher to the dairy! Everything was a joy.. until the village festival on the last evening.
We can't wait to show Silvia and her family Kenya!
We had the pleasure of welcoming Silvia, Maurizio and their two children.
they were fantastic guests and truly really enjoyed Kenya, the people, the environment etc...
Ali, our staff member was really fond of them. All went very well, they went back home with wonderful memories.
I highly recommend this beautiful family.

Regarding the provision of additional toilet paper rolls and a kitchen sink sponge, we apologize for the cleaning lady's oversight. Since this is a second home and we don't live nearby, we can't manage the cleaning service ourselves. Therefore, we've entrusted a trusted cleaning lady who is usually very careful with her work; a small oversight can happen.
Lastly, wine glasses in Italy come in at least three types: red wine, white wine, and flute (bubbles). Unfortunately, the cupboard doesn't have enough space to hold 18 bulky glasses. The apartment sleeps 6, so a complete supply is essential. Furthermore, we believe that good wine, served in the right company, is more important than the container itself. But everyone has their own opinions, which we respect. We'll consider adding to the supply and follow your kind advice.
For future guests of our apartment in Fiocco di Neve, we ask you to carefully evaluate the photos and lower your expectations. We are looking for exchanges with simple people who love the mountains even without all the comforts they're used to at home. The apartment is welcoming, and we offer it as a warm welcome to share this wonderful place outside the magnificent and fragile Dolomites. Happy exchanges to everyone!
Silvia,
Your words touch us and fill us with joy.
We are really delighted that you had an unforgettable time.
It is easy to fall in love with this country and the Kenyans because they are so kind and helpful.
See you soon and wishing the children a good start to the school year.
Looking forward to staying in touch, Silvia and Maurizio!
Nadège, Britt-marie and the children
we had a good time with Nadege and his family. We hosted his family and friends with joy and they were able to visit the beauties of the Dolomites. Communication was friendly and effective. The house was left tidy. Hosting Nadege was a positive experience! Now we are waiting for August to arrive so that we too can go to Kenya to his house which we haven't seen yet.
