My home is near a beautiful beach in a cute little town just north of San Diego. The huge windows offer expansive views including the beach and the ocean. It's only a ten-minute walk to a charming downtown area bustling with shops and restaurants. A leisurely twenty-minute walk takes me to the beach, where there are also fantastic dining options. Additionally, just a five-minute walk leads to serene lagoon trails teeming with diverse birdlife.
The space
The entrance is on the middle floor, where there is a living room, dining room, and kitchen. The living room has a fireplace, huge windows, and a small deck with views of the lagoon and waves breaking on the beach. There are two bedrooms and two full baths available. The top floor bedroom has amazing views of the water, a small deck, and a full bath. On the lowest floor, there's a second bedroom and full bath, a small office area, and a reading room. The floors are hardwood and tile, with a few area rugs. There's a big deck off the top floor with couches, a table and chairs, and a fire pit and grill. There is a driveway at the back of the house with room for two cars.
Guest access
It's a three-story home, with the living area on the second floor, the main bedroom on the top floor and the second bedroom on the bottom floor. You enter on the second floor.

Neighbourhood
Encinitas is a charming small town, about half a hour north of San Diego, with beautiful beaches, lots of great restaurants from taco stands to fine dining on the water, and a cute downtown with fun boutiques. There are bike, e-bike, and kayak rentals nearby, world-class surfing, and lots of amazing walking paths.
A little further afield, San Diego has a wonderful zoo and an amazing safari park, and of course Seaworld. Whale watching is a great option. Kids love Legoland, which is also nearby, and Disneyland is a good day trip, about an hour away. Nearby Mission Bay offers sailing and Duffy boats.
Getting to my home
The best way to get here is fly into San Diego International Airport, and taxi or Uber to the house, usually about half an hour. You could also get here from John Wayne Airport in Orange County, but it's a bit further, probably an hour.
Nearest airport
San Diego Airport is about 30-45 minutes away, depending on traffic.
Getting around
The house is easy walking distance to the small Cardiff downtown, maybe half a mile. You'll find a grocery store, restaurants and shops there. It's another 10 minutes or so to walk to the nearest beach, and probably another 20 minutes to walk to downtown Encinitas (which is probably a five minute drive). There's a two-car driveway behind the house, and plenty of street parking. A car is always a good idea in Southern California, but in this walkable location, it’s not essential.
