General overview

We live in a lovely, cozy single-family home. The house is located in Cap-Rouge, on a very quiet street, where the kids love to play! The neighborhood is peaceful, and our neighbors very friendly.

The space

The house consists of the following rooms: - Adult bedroom and children's bedroom on the first floor; - Open-plan living room with kitchen and small bistro area; - Two bathrooms, one on the first floor and one in the basement; - Large basement family room with children's games and musical instruments; - Two other rooms in the basement, one of which we're going to convert into a bedroom with a single bed. Here you'll find children's games, board games, musical instruments, TV, sound system, crockery kit, etc. You'll want for nothing! Outside, we've laid out a pleasant courtyard with atmospheric evening lighting and a small fountain. We have a table, chairs, rocking chairs and two sofa chairs. A play module and sandbox are available for children, and we install a hammock on sunny days. In our large garden shed, you can use the bikes and other children's games (sand toys, ball, field hockey stick, baseball, etc.), or any other equipment that might interest you. We also have a car that could be part of the exchange, to be discussed.

Neighbourhood

Our home is located in Cap-Rouge, a suburb of the superb historic city of Quebec. Cap-Rouge is renowned for its picturesque riverside scenery, proximity to the St. Lawrence River, lush green parks and peaceful ambience. Our neighborhood includes several public parks for children, services such as bakeries and pharmacies, and access to the Cap-Rouge river park, just a few minutes' walk away. You're just a 15-minute walk from Vieux Cap-Rouge, its marina, and the magnificent St. Lawrence River: - Enjoy Vieux Cap-Rouge's restaurants, including Quai 1635, right on the river's edge; - Treat yourself to a famous ice cream from the local chocolate factory; - Use boats on the river at the Cap-Rouge nautical park (kayak, pedal boat, etc.); - Visit an archaeological site with its incredible view of Cap-Rouge and the St. Lawrence River; - From the Cap-Rouge marina, take the Promenade Jacques-Cartier to Jacques-Cartier beach, and eventually to downtown Quebec City! Within 5 to 10 minutes by car, you have access to all services, including major shopping centers and the Quebec City airport. Downtown Quebec City is easily reached in 20 minutes by car or public transit. From here, you can discover the city's history, visit museums, sample local cuisine and enjoy the many attractions this historic city has to offer: - Petit Champlain area; - Dufferin Terrace and Frontenac Castle; - The Plains of Abraham; - The Citadelle of Quebec; - The Old Port of Quebec; - Cartier Street; - St-Jean Street; - Lower Town and its trendy restaurants; - The Museum of Civilization; - National gallery of Quebec. A little further afield, other attractions await you, such as Montmorency Falls, Orléans Island, Jacques-Cartier National Park, Duchesnay tourist resort, Saint-Anne ski station, etc. Cap-Rouge is also well located for exploring other regions of Quebec, such as Charlevoix, Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean, Montreal, Mauricie National Park and more. In short, there's no shortage of things to do in our beautiful region!

Bastien

We're a family of three. I'm an engineer and passionate musician, while my wife works in community recreation and teaches yoga to children. Our 8-year-old son loves lego, reading and creative outdoor play. We are reliable, caring people who love the simple things in life, nature, good family time, good food, and travel. We've been traveling with our son since he was two, camping across Canada, and are now excited to discover new countries, new landscapes and new people!
