General overview
Located in the centre of the Town of Canmore, our three-level townhouse is ideally suited for a couple, two couples, or a family who want a home base to explore all that the Canadian Rockies have to offer. Surrounded by mountains, ski hills, rivers, biking, and hiking trails, whether you want a relaxing vacation in nature or the adventure trip of a lifetime, we have it all!
The house has three levels, with three bedrooms, four bathrooms, an open-design kitchen, dining, and living room, with a large screen TV and gas fireplace. A balcony provides a great spot for early-morning coffee or hammock sundowners.
We are one block off of the main street and two blocks from the river, with walkable access to boutique shopping, restaurants, and extensive nature paths. The five-minute drive away Canmore Nordic Centre was home to the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics and provides world-class cross-country skiing in the winter and mountain biking in the summer.
The Banff National Park Gates are 5 minutes West by car, with access to three ski resorts, hundreds of hiking trails, great road cycling, the Town of Banff, iconic Lake Louise, Jasper National Park, and so much more. You can appreciate a comfortable home just 90 minutes from the international airport in Calgary, and 20 minutes from the Town of Banff!
The space
The entrance to our 2,000-square-foot, three-story townhome is off the street-front driveway and up one step to the front door. The main floor hosts one small bedroom with a futon-style bed, desk, TV, and bathroom with shower.
Up one floor of stairs is the wood/tile floored main living area, open-concept with the kitchen, breakfast bar, dining room, living room, and office. There is a gas fireplace below the wall-mounted 55-inch TV (300 cable channels, Prime and Netflix) in the living room. Access to the balcony is off this space and has sunny views of the mountains, with a barbecue and a small gas firepit, perfect for summer sunsets and romantic dinners.
The carpeted second level hosts two bedrooms; one with a queen-sized bed, and the main with a king-sized bed. There is a four-piece bathroom in the hall, with an ensuite bathroom off the main, and both have tubs with showers. There is also a full-sized washing machine and dryer for laundry. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge/freezer, gas stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, and double sink.
The front of the living space has full-sized windows letting in plenty of sunlight and rocky mountain views into the dining, living and cooking... and don't forget barbecuing on the balcony!

It is very quiet, with some tourism-town traffic noise during the day from the front street in the summer, and snow removal vehicles in the winter.

Neighbourhood
Our home is ideally located just a block off the main street so it is easily walkable to all amenities like restaurants, boutiques, grocery, pharmacy, walking/biking trails and outdoor gear rentals. There are several parks with playgrounds within a ten-minute walk.
Mountain views abound in every direction. The river pathway is a five-minute walk away. Wildlife live and are respected among us. The hiking scene is world-class, as is the climbing, skiing, canoeing, trail-running, paddling, snow-shoeing, tennis, pickleball, and many more activities. Most importantly, Canmore is a lovely community with kind (Canadian eh!) people and a bustling tourism scene, especially in the summer.
