General overview
Our home is a three level house on a large block, with verandas at the front and back. It has complete privacy, being surrounded by an extensive tropical garden with winding footpaths, and lovely spaces and a swimming pool where you can relax and enjoy a lush natural environment which is home to a variety of birds and animals, many of whom visit us on our verandas.
The space
The house is architecturally unique, with a ground floor self contained apartment and two levels above. You will have complete private access to the upper two levels.
The first upper level comprises an open-plan lounge, dining area and kitchen; a main bedroom with king-size bed, en suite and dressing room; a smaller bedroom with double bed (a cot is also available); and a second bathroom. There are also large full-length verandas at both the front and the back of the house at this level.
At the top is the mezzanine floor with a gambrel roof, comprising a third bedroom with a double bed, a study and a private (closed off) atelier.
All levels have reverse-cycle air conditioning.
The ground floor is completely separate from the upper levels and is occupied by a mother and daughter.
Guest access
The house is set on a sloping block of about 1400 square metres area. The driveway is steep, and there are quite a few steps to reach the house, and stairs inside.
Notes
Because of the open staircases, the house is not suitable for infirm people or very young children.
We have a resident cat, Meg, she is quite shy and keeps to herself. She will need feeding but this can be arranged easily if you want to be away overnight. We also have 8 chickens in a large coop in the backyard. You can choose to care for them and enjoy fresh eggs everyday, and chook cuddles (they are very friendly) or we can arrange for them to be looked after.
