Neighbourhood

Our home is in Arana Hills, an outer suburb of Brisbane in southeast Queensland, Australia. It is 2 km from the countryside (or ‘bush’ in Australian terminology) to the west, mainly forest, with farmland further west. The house is 1½ km from a train station, which has frequent trains that take 30 minutes to reach the city centre. The suburb itself is suburban, leafy and pleasant. Nearest airport

Brisbane international airport is 16km away by road. It is also accessible by train, the nearest station being Ferny Grove, about 1½km from the house.

Getting Around

Local food shops are less than a 10-minute walk away. A larger shopping centre with supermarkets is 1½km away. Brisbane city centre is a 20-minute drive from the house at offpeak times. An automatic Subaru Outback car available is for guests. The house is 1½km from a train station, which has frequent trains that take you to the city centre 30 minutes.
