Neighbourhood

We are close to the sea with several walking and cycling tracks to nearby Manly marinas and bush tracks through wetlands.We are located in a quiet suburb of Lota. The Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron is within walking distance and the base for many international regattas. Manly is home to farmers markets and has cafes. bars and restaurants. It is considered to be a safe friendly suburb. Our neighbours are helpful and supportive when we have exchange guests staying.

Brisbane International airport is a 20 minute drive or accessible by train.

Getting around

We have bicycles and usually provide a car in the exchange if this is agreed by both parties. Our home is located in easy walking distance from the train service to the city.

Hi There, we live in a great location in Lota, a quiet coastal Brisbane suburb in Queensland Australia. Our arty house may be in a quiet suburb but it is close to glorious walks to Manly's beautiful marina and bushland bikeways. We are also near the gateway to Moreton Bay including Stradbroke Island home to kangaroos, koalas,dolphins , turtles and migrating whales. Nearby Manly has the coffee shops bars and restaurants and Brisbane city is an easy train ride . Attractions on the Gold and Sunshine coast such as Movie World, Sea World or Australia Zoo are easily accessible on a day trip from our home by car or rail/ bus trips. Our two level home is comfortable all year round. It has air-conditioning and ceiling fans. We enjoy cooling breezes through most of the summer and most of our winter is very mild. Locals say it was on a Thursday last year! Downstairs has a drive-in garage, kitchen, dining room,powder room with WC, 2 lounge rooms and an outdoor dining area with builtin sink and webber barbecue - perfect at any time of year for meals. We have done several exchanges to Europe and travelled through Asia New Zealand and USA We are avid travellers and will consider all offers. Of particular interest to us is anywhere in Europe in April to October in 2021as we are planning an extended trip. We have a second home and can usually be quite flexible for non-simultaneous exchanges.
