Our home is in Ocean Reef, a suburb approximately 30 minutes' drive North of Perth, we are easily accessed from both city and airport by bus and train, though the easiest way to travel in Perth is by car. Our car is available for use as part of exchanges, and we have car seats available for use if needed too.
Ocean Reef is a beautiful, safe beachside suburb with an abundance of local parks and stunning nearby beaches. Hillarys Boat Harbour is a short 10 minute drive, with several dining and entertainment option there, including the Aquarium of Western Australia (AQWA).
There are many incredible places to explore in Perth, from the city and Kings Park, to the Fremantle Arts Precinct, Yanchep Caves and National Park, John Forrest National Park, Lesmurdie Falls, the Swan Valley wine region, and parts of the Bibbulman track. This is just to name a few - there are many more places than this to explore in Perth and surrounds, as well as Margaret River in our South West being a short few hours' drive, and Lancelin, the Pinnacles and several other tourist destinations/attractions within a couple of hours' drive to the North.
The Space
Our home is a bright, spacious 4x2 with separate study, large yard and a pool, as well as being across the street from a playground. It is bright and modern, and well equipped with everything you need from a washer and dryer, to a dishwasher and even our car is available for exchange, for a comfortable stay. It is perfect for kids, travelling pets, and for working from home.
In the bedrooms - the master has a king sized bed, minor bedrooms have one queen, one double, and one set of single bunks. The lounge also has a queen sized sofa bed.
Guest Access
Our home is on a single floor, with the rear lounge being sunken, though the backyard is also accessible via the laundry door. The doorways are not level entry, so it is not fully accessible, and the showers have brick height hobs.

People Like Us Local Guide
I'm happy to meet PLU members visiting Perth, to show you around, catch up for a drink or meal, or just as company :)
Huge thank you to Kirsten and Kieran for making our dream exchange happen! We had the most amazing two-week adventure in Perth. It was our first time ever visiting Australia, and we honestly loved every minute.
The fridge of easter egg bunnies won our brood over immediately, so thoughtful and kind.
Their home is absolutely fantastic—comfortable, beautifully set up, and perfect for a family stay. Everything was so easy from start to finish, and communication between us was seamless, which made the whole experience feel really relaxed.
We couldn’t recommend this family more. It truly felt like a dream come true for us and our kids. In fact, we loved it so much that we even spoke to visa experts while we were there about possibly moving in the future!
The little details made such a difference too—the park just opposite, bikes for getting around with the kids, and the car arrangement, which was ideal for airport trips and exploring further afield.
We had a great mix of days following their recommendations, spontaneous outings, and even a couple of cosy stormy days staying in and playing board games together.
Thank you again for everything—we’ll never forget it!
Kristen and Kieran's home was absolutely delightful to stay in for our two weeks of summer holidays with our kids and grandkids.
Their wonderful home offered plenty of room for all seven of us, as well as the largest amount of toys available to the children, that one could ask for. If they weren't building, reading or playing inside, they were climbing, bouncing or swimming in their beautiful back yard. Truly a delight for children to be able to entertain themselves hour after hour. I would highly recommend this great location, with close proximity to many beaches for any family. Kristen's thoughtfulness and easy communication regarding the area and their home, made our exchange truly a fulfilled dream vacation.
This was a truly great house swap. It was easy to communicate with Kristen both before and during the swap where needed. A lovely spacious home right opposite a large field and great pool and yard too. The location is good which plenty of beaches with a short distance. The car was a bonus.
The handover folder and local knowledge was really useful.
We are Melbourne based and the beaches and sunsets in Western Australia were some of the best I’ve ever seen in the world!
Highly recommend a swap with Kristen and Kieren to ocean reef.
We had a great exchange with Kristen and Kieran. Their house a was very well organised and modern and close to some wonderfull beaches and also close to a shopping centre.
Their house was so clean and their lovely welcome gift was a nice touch.
I would most highly recommend anyone wanting a stay in Perth to exchange with Kristen and Kieran.
We had the fantastic opportunity to go on a 4 month long exchange to Kristen and Kieran's house in Ocean Reef. Their house is spacious, very well equipped and ideally suited to families, which was perfect for us as the parents of two young children. We particularly enjoyed the good sized swimming pool and backyard. The house is walking distance to shops, parks and playgrounds, and right opposite the local primary school which our children attended for a term. Perth CBD is an easy 20 minute drive away and there is plenty to do within a short distance. Some of our favourite outings were to the Swan Valley, Yanchep Lagoon, Rottnest Island and Caversham Wildlife park.
We found the Northern suburbs in general a very family friendly place, and we were never short of things to do.
Kirsten, Kieran and their boys were absolutely fantastic guests—we couldn’t have asked for better! They left our home spotless and treated it with such care and respect.
We had an unexpected issue with our washing machine (the first time ever!), and Kieran went above and beyond by fixing it himself and even figuring out a top loader with no trouble at all—such a lifesaver!
They were truly perfect home exchange guests, and we’d welcome them back in a heartbeat. Highly, highly recommended!
A lovely respectful family who cared for our home but most importantly our Labrador. We are forever grateful for the care and walks for our dog pounchski.
Our house was spotless on return and it seemed the kids enjoyed the Lego ang toys too. House swapping with kids is so convenient!
Both Kristen and Kieran and their children left our house in immaculate condition. Their communication through the whole process was perfect. Kieran even fixed a leaky tap and resalted our pool.
They would be welcome anytime in the future.
Kristen and Kieran were very friendly and easy to communicate with and any queries were always promptly answered. They took great care of our house and I would highly recommend them as exchange partners.
Feedback for Kathie·Simultaneous exchange·14 nights
We immensely enjoyed our visit to the Tiffany family home. Kathie's communication was excellent, and finding their apartment was made easy by very straightforward instructions.
The Tiffany's home manual was excellently comprehensive, and a wonderful source of information whilst we were out and about. We took up quite a few of their suggestions, but also found a few things to do outside of this.
We were all thrilled to see an array of wildlife during our stay. All the different lizards and the otters were a real treat!
Their apartment was well equipped (even if I am not well versed in the art of cleaning without a vacuum cleaner!). The space was perfect for a family of five. Our boys loved the toys and pool, and enjoyed making friends in the communal space.
Thank you Tiffany family for a wonderful exchange. We hope your boomerang made the solo trip back safely!
Feedback for Kathie·Simultaneous exchange·14 nights
The Tiffany family communicated very well as guests and let us know of any issues that arise immediately. Our home was left in a tidy, presentable condition, and we appreciated their efforts to wash as much of the linen as humanly possible on fly out day. No small feat! Thanks again for a great exchange.
Feedback for Gwen·Non-Reciprocal exchange·14 nights
Gwen and her family were so wonderful to exchange with. From day one, communication was very easy, and they were exceptionally respectful, tidy guests. Our house was left spotless, and I think the pool was cleaner than I've ever managed to keep it myself! Thank you so much to Gwen, Dennis and their family for making our first globe exchange such a positive experience! We are so glad you enjoyed your time in our home.
Feedback for Karen·Simultaneous exchange·10 nights
Karen and her family have a beautiful character home in a wonderful, safe, family-friendly area close to Melbourne CBD (even if Melbourne traffic doesn't make it feel that way!). Their home is well equipped and has a lovely fully-fenced yard. There are several parks in walking distance, supermarkets within a short drive and public transport (buses, trams and trains) nearby. We enjoyed our time walking around the local area, going to the beach and relaxing in the backyard over a bbq dinner and playing with their lovely 2 year old Labrador, Pounchski.
Feedback for Karen·Simultaneous exchange·10 nights
Karen and her family were easy to communicate with both before and during our exchange. They left our home clean and tidy, and promptly messaged us if they had any questions or concerns. They also promptly communicated back to us if we had any queries, which was much appreciated, particularly when it came to our care of Pounchski.
Thank you for a wonderful stay and for being wonderful guests!
Feedback for Richard and Ann·Simultaneous exchange·11 nights
Agnès and Eric's home is in an excellent location and was perfect for our long term swap. We were so fortunate to find them as exchange partners, and are grateful our children were able to experience NZ life for a few months, including school and having quality time with family. Their home fit us perfectly and was just what we needed
Feedback for Agnes and Enric·Simultaneous exchange·107 nights
Agnès and Enrich communicated wonderfully. Being our first exchange, they were very patient with us and open to answering any questions we had, guiding us through the process. They left our home in excellent condition, and were prompt in communicating any issues with us. Thank you again!
