Neighbourhood
Nestled in the charming Fairview area of Nelson, our home is perfectly situated, just a 5-minute stroll away from the beach, hiking and biking trails, and a delightful coffee shop. A short drive into Nelson opens up a world of experiences, from shopping and museums to theaters, farmers markets, and a plethora of cafes and restaurants.
Described as one of Canada`s hidden gems, Nelson is a vibrant mountain town nestled in the Selkirk Mountains along the West Arm of Kootenay Lake. With a population of approximately 10,000 residents, it seamlessly blends heritage, recreation, culture, and creativity. Recognized as North America`s best ski town and Canada`s finest small arts and culture town, Nelson`s charm is palpable. The iconic Baker Street is a testament to this charm, adorned with art in shops, galleries, and even on the streets and in the alleys.
Immerse yourself in Nelson`s carefully restored downtown shopping area, bustling social scene, and a calendar filled with live performances, arts, and music nearly every night of the week. The town`s rich history is evident in the more than 350 preserved heritage buildings, coexisting harmoniously with a dynamic modern arts and culture scene.
Whether you`re an outdoor enthusiast seeking diverse recreational activities in winter and summer or a creative soul, entrepreneur, or urban refugee, Nelson has more to offer than cities twice or three times its size. As the "Queen City" for over a century, Nelson boasts more lovingly restored heritage buildings per capita than anywhere else in the province. Come experience the unique blend of past and present, where the mountains meet creativity in the heart of Nelson.

My partner, daughter and I live in Nelson enjoying a wonderful outdoor lifestyle and access to all the cultural and musical events that the city has to offer. We are soon welcoming our second daughter and hope to bring her along to all future adventures.
I work remotely in the tech industry and my partner is a general manager of a ski lodge further up Kootenay Lake. We love having friends and family to stay and can't wait to welcome others to this beautiful part of BC and show you all that it has to offer.
We have a very low maintenance cat that we could give to friends to look after, but would prefer it if she could stay in our home whilst guests are there if it is not an issue.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
