General overview

We offer our comfortable family home in a quiet suburban area 25kms south-east from Melbourne CBD. Great location with plenty to do in any direction. Quiet neighbourhood with a friendly vibe. Easy care.

The space

You will be comfortable in any season with effective gas-ducted floor heating for winter and air-conditioning for the warmer months throughout the whole house. There is an easy care garden with a few pot plants on the back patio. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of cooking utensils, serving dishes and storage containers. The laundry has a front loader washing machine, dryer, clothes airer and iron. The master bedroom has a king size bed, WIR and ensuite (shower, basin and toilet). The second bedroom has a queen size bed. The main bathroom has a bath, shower and vanity/cupboard. Outdoor undercover patio area with large 8 seater table and bbq.

Guest access

Single level. 3 steps at the front door. 2 steps off the back patio.

Notes

We are perfectly located to head in all directions to the water, the ocean, the country and the forest. Head to the east and The Dandenongs await you. Home to Puffing Billy train, walking tracks, scenic lookouts and quirky villages. The city is to the west as well as Port Phillip Bay. If you head south you can enjoy the ocean and the Mornington Peninsula (wineries, thermal springs, beaches). And going north to Yarra Valley (wineries and gin distilleries, chocolate factories, waterfalls, historic homes)

Neighbourhood

We have caring and friendly neighbours who we've known for over 20 years. The suburb is active with families enjoying the local park - 2 mins walk. Quiet during the day - even quieter at night time. Surprising, given that we are surrounded by major roads and a freeway which will take you in all directions. Well serviced by public transport within a 5 minute walk with buses taking you to the train station. In the immediate walkable area are takeaway options - pizza and fish/chips. A little further walk/car trip away you will find supermarkets, chemists, restaurants, pubs and cafes. Major shopping centres Chadstone, The Glen and Waverley Gardens are close by. Jells Park is a 5 min drive away - large parklands with lake, walking/bike tracks, bbq area and multiple playgrounds. Monash Gallery of Art + Museum of Australian Photography

Getting to my home

There is a Skybus service from the airport into the city. Then you can catch a metro train/bus to our place (about 1.5hrs/approx $35 per person). You will need to purchase a MYKI card at the station to access the public transport system. Alternatively there is a cheap option of a public bus service from the airport, that winds through suburbs and will place you close to our place (2-2.5hrs). Then another short bus ride. Approx $5 per person. Taxi or Uber from the airport is approx $100-$150

Nearest airport

Melbourne International Airport is 40km away (40min drive non-peak, 1hr at peak).

Getting around

Possibility of a car arrangement if needed. Serviced by several public bus routes within a short walking distance.

Mary-Anne

My husband Stuart and I are now enjoying our time to travel - to explore new destinations, to re-visit our favourite places and to enjoy time with family and friends all over the world. We love trying new activities - zip-lining, abseiling and flying in really small helicopters!!!! We are drawn to foodie hot-spots and seek out areas of natural wonder and beauty. What a great way to supplement travel - share our home and get to meet like-minded people. House exchange is a new journey for us, having had numerous house and pet sitting experiences both in Australia and overseas.
