General overview
It's my small piece of paradise. The house opens directly one of the most beautiful beaches. The house is about 5 minutes walk on the beach down to the small village of Mission Beach. The tropical rainforest behind the town has some some of the strangest and rarest animals as well as waterfalls and swimming spots. Offshore there is Dunk Island and the Family Group of islands. And the Great Barrier Reef is not far out to sea. There is so much to do and see in this little part of the world.
The space
A comfortable 3 bedroom, single level house with large outdoor living spaces, a swimming pool and plenty of fresh air and sunlight. It's a tropical climate so the winters here are lovely and warm for swimming in the ocean and the pool.

Nearest airport
Cairns International Airport is closest. Alternatively Townsville Airport is only a little further away. Both are around 2 hours away. There is a bus from Cairns Airport to Mission Beach directly which is convenient should you wish to avoid renting a car. There are also plenty of other Greyhound style buses from Cairns and Townsville to get to Mission Beach.
Getting around
The village of Mission Beach is an easy walk down the beach (or the pathways) to access shops, restaurants, cafes, bars and a resort. There is one large supermarket a little further away. A bike is available at the house for guests to use to get around but walking is equally as easy and pleasant. There is a local "on demand" bus service as well as taxis.

I took this photo from my front yard looking onto the beach. The sunrises are definitely worth getting up for.

Swimming off one of the islands just offshore. The "Family Group" of Islands (including Dunk Island) are stunning, well worth exploring. Boats run from Mission Beach daily.

The Great Barrier Reef is not far offshore. Scuba and snorkelling trips depart everyday from Mission Beach. A go-pro camera is an excellent way to get these kinds of photos of the sea-life.
More pics from the go-pro.
The jungle behind Mission Beach is very lush. This is my car in one of the tracks behind Mission.
I took this pic of a Cassowary, the world's most dangerous bird, from the car. There is a population of cassowaries that live in and around Mission Beach. You are almost guaranteed to see one of these endangered birds when you are here.
That's me snorkelling at the Great Barrier Reef. It's amazing!
Mission Beach is one of the cleanest beaches in the world. The water is intensely blue in real life.
Part of the little village of Mission Beach. Cafes, restaurants, bars and resorts.
Mission Beach is cococut trees and endless blue waters. Pristine, without crowds, unique and special.
