A 10 minute drive will take you into the city centre of Bristol, and a 5/10 minute drive to the local Bristol parkway train station will give you a perfect link to Bath, and London . There are buses easily accessible, the village is just off the main M5/M4 motorway exit onto the M32 to Bristol so it’s a perfect base to explore, We run an air bnb (another smaller cottage and 2 cabins) in the next village along and our guests always comment on the location for a base to explore. Neighbourhood

It’s a wonderful lifestyle to be able to have so much greenery, stunning 200-300 year old houses, a 30 second walk to a beautiful pub and lots of common field for the children to play just opposite. The local church is stunning and a 5 minute walk to the tennis court (members only but you can register) and children’s park. You truly will love the area. A couple minutes drive there is the Bristol Golf Centre- a driving range , golf shop, cafe and an epic crazy golf adventure called ‘Caddy Gilmore’s’ 2x 18 hole adventure themes courses one is long job and army wreck theme the other is around the world! Frenchay also has the Shaftesbury Park rugby club and fields with events hall- home to the Dings rugby team, the ultra modern stadium is a great event to watch a game on the Friday night or weekend. A picturesque 5 minute walk through the tiny village will take you to the river frome where you can cross over the bridge and walk right all away along the river path to ‘Snuff mills ‘ estate with huge play park. Left will take you to our next village of Hambrook which is so picturesqe and host to renowned country pub ‘the white horse’. This is where our holiday let properties are :) The children play and paddle in the shallow parts of the river in the summertime. Bristol itself has an abundance to do for adults and children - I can’t write them all here but you can completely immerse yourself in nature walks, educational/ history like the SS Great Britain, Clifton suspension bridge, Bristol museum and aquarium, We the curious science centre, the city is full of culture especially known for music and arts. all within 15 minutes of the doorstep. Cribbs causeway retail and leisure complex is a 15 minute drive and here you have Hollywood bowl, arcade, cinema, ice skating, multiple restaurants like TGI Fridays, Nando’s, another crazy golf centre, the mall shopping centre. Cabot circus shopping centre.: The list is endless!!!

Getting to my home

Nearest train station is 1.5 miles away at Bristol Parkway and we are a short 5-drive, there are bus stops a 5 minute walk. Which serve a direct route to Bristol UWE and city centre. By car we are just off the junction m32 for m4/M5 motorways and a short 8-10 minute drive to the city centre

Nearest airport

Bristol airport 11 miles (30/35 minutes with clear traffic)

Getting around

There is a local fuel garage and convenience store a 5 minute walk. Next door to the garage is a Harvester - which has the famous salad cart , and do great all you can eat breakfast offers and continental breakfast buffet. 30 seconds away is the local pub serving traditional English meals. We are happy to leave our small Fiat 500 or similar for you to use providing we can arrange relevant insurance. But you can walk to most things you need. If you are hiring a car it is very easy to get into the main motorways and ring road that connect most towns.

Hello! We are a British Family of 4 (2 sons age 8 & 3) living in a rural village in Bristol , England, We love animals and exploring cities, architecture, local communities and especially beaches! We have a little holiday let business in the next village Hambrook where we run a cottage residence and 2 cabins on the same grounds. We have hosted over 500 stays on platforms in the last 4 years and superhost on air bnb. We set this up in lockdown 2020 and have provided us a flexible and free lifestyle with lots of Time! My partner runs a fashion label and we thought we would give home exchanging a try to let guests see the wonderful area whilst exploring others. This has been a very budgetable option considering we pay for 2 properties to be able to holiday let our former home and now paying for our current one ! We can’t wait to explore your area !
