General Overview

It is a rustic townhouse but with modern touches, where you can relax, savor local dishes and drinks or from which to explore the surroundings, ranging from the peaks of the mountains at 2000 meters, to the green woods of chestnut and beech trees, up to the famous Terme di Saturnia 30 minutes by car or bus. If you want, you can also go as far as the Argentario sea in 1 hour by car.

The Space

At the entrance there are two independent doors: one is the entrance (Via Lunga n.14) of the cellar (also communicating with the house by an internal door) where you can unload your suitcases and where there is the heating boiler and a small laundry room with washing machine, drying rack, sink, vacuum cleaner and shoe rack (plus some repair tools such as hammers, pincers and screwdrivers.) The main entrance door on Via Lunga n.16 instead serves to access the house, which after a flight of wooden stairs, unfolds into a large kitchen, a living room with fireplace, a bathroom with shower and a single bedroom. Going up the other flight of wooden stairs, you arrive at the second floor consisting of: two large double bedrooms and a second bathroom with large shower. In one of the two bedrooms there is also a camping bed for children where a child up to 5 years of age (up to 130cm) can comfortably sleep.

Guest Access

There are three stone steps at the entrance and then a flight of wooden stairs to access the first floor, where the kitchen, living room, bathroom and single bedroom are located. Then another flight of wooden stairs to access the second floor with the other two double bedrooms and the second bathroom.

Notes

IMPORTANT: ONLY for non-reciprocal exchanges (Globe, Pluto, etc.) or for those who require payment for cleaning, we ask for a cleaning fee of €50 (half the cost we pay to those who take care of cleaning, washing sheets and towels, ironing, etc.), so we essentially split it.) WHY? The reasons are: - The house is large, ancient with rustic materials that are difficult to clean and far from where we live. That is why we cannot deal with it ourselves. And it is very complicated to clean. - when the exchange is mutual (regardless of whether it is sim or non-sim, the guests are more respectful and we assume the full cost of cleaning (as they will do when we go). So in these cases, no fee. - Generally, when the exchange is non-reciprocal, we find the house dirtier. We are therefore obliged to do so. - Finally, if we come to your house and you ask us to participate in the cleaning costs, it seems right to do it in turn when you come. So, to recap: we ask to participate (dividing it in half € 50 each) the cost of cleaning ONLY and EXCLUSIVELY for non-reciprocal exchanges (with Pluto, Globes, etc.) or reciprocal when the other party also asks for cleaning costs. Thank you for your understanding. 🙏🏻

Neighbourhood

The house is located in the ancient district, called Borgo, where the artisans resided with their workshops in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. The whole village (and even our house, although it has obviously been renovated and made safe with all the modern anti-seismic precautions) is from the Middle Ages.

Nearest airport

The nearest airports are those of Rome Fiumicino and Florence, equidistant about two hours by car. (180/200km)

Getting Around

In the village there are shops, supermarkets and restaurants. But it is highly recommended to come by car (or rent one) to better enjoy the surroundings and trips. There are agencies that rent bicycles and organize tours with them and the local bus network Rama/Cotral.
