General overview
We're the Hamon family! Franck from France, Joanne from Malaysia and our daughter Reya (9) the only true Spaniard amongst us. We moved here from the UK 13 years ago, and enjoyed 10 amazing years in Barcelona. We finally decided to enjoy a quieter pace of life here in Calafell, Tarragona. Franck and I both grew up in families that traveled a lot and we want to continue this tradition. We're major foodies, and always want to try the local food during our travels. We love meeting new people, and enjoy learning about other cultures.
Calafell is predominantly a holiday town for beach-goers. The beachfront is lined with restaurants and cafes. The beach is nice never too packed, and you'll always find parking not too far away.
The area behind our home is where Cava and Penedes wine is made! There are a few wine 'caves', and tours can be arranged. Between June-October, there are many 'feista de barrios' in all the surrounding neighborhoods. Music, wine, tapas is definitely the way of life here :) Calafell is very kid friendly, with lots of activities for kids - from the Calafell adventure park, to the giant mountain slide! It is a great place if you're looking for a not-too-jammed-packed summer vacation.
The space
Our home has a fabulous view of the valley and sea. It's split level, bungalow with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, lounge, dining area, balcony, terrace area & BBQ area. We have a lovely little above ground pool, large veggie garden surrounded by orange trees and a gated area for our 2 chickens - Tallulah & Missy. Our home is guarded by our pup, Bear. We have 2 cats named Charlie and Bristol that hang out both indoors and outdoors.
Guest access
The house has many floors (although it looks like a double story house). It has 'half floors' - Entrance and 1 bathroom on the 1st floor, kitchen and dining on another floor, lounge- a half floor below. Master bedroom, en-suite and office on another floor, 2 bedrooms and one bathroom on one floor. The cellar and outdoor terrace are at the very bottom. Next to the terrace is the veggie garden which is fenced off.
Notes
The main language spoken here is Spanish and Catalan, so having google translate on your phone will be handy for communicating.

Neighbourhood
The neighbourhood is lined with houses, and the road headed up to our home is quite steep. There are a few walking paths and they take you on to the next town.
There is a bus stop about 5 minutes away from the house. It passes by every hour, and goes into town (next to the train station).
The town has supermarkets, pharmacies, restaurants, hairdressers and a couple of boutiques. The beach is a 10 minute drive from the house.
Getting to my home
Barcelona El Prat Airport is 30 minutes from our home. The best way to get here is to rent a car as public transportation is quite limited. You can take the train here via the RS2 Renfe, and then arrange for a taxi to bring you to the house. Taxi services need to be booked in advance.
Nearest airport
Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN) is a 30 minute drive from the house.
Getting around
It's best to rent a car as there is very limited public transportation.
