General overview
We have a large, 5 bedroom home that sits inside a circle of giant spruce trees, enrobing us privacy.
Why we love our home, top 3:
1. We love all the nature and space! We can step out onto the deck and inhale the beautiful smells of the forest. We can watch the Northern Lights dance in the sky as we listen to the loons and coyotes call.
2. We love exploring the forest! Just steps away from our natural, sweeping yard, we own 78 acres of Boreal Forest. We get to witness the deer, moose, bear, beaver, rabbits, coyotes, geese, and grouse share their wilderness with us.
3. We also love our City! We are located a mere 5 minute drive from the nearest city, Cold Lake. Home to a beautiful, crystal clear lake, splash park, mountain bike park, aerial climbing adventure, fresh water marina, largest Air Force base in Canada, local farmer's markets, miles of walking and hiking trails, and of course big box stores, and local shops.
The space
Our house is large, 3400sq. ft. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs, along with 2 full bathrooms. The hallways are extra wide. There is a large, fully equipped kitchen, and large living and dining areas.
There is also a basement that is fully finished. It has a bathroom with shower, laundry room, 2 bedrooms, a workout room, and a living area. The living area is filled with educational games, toys, supplies, and a Smartboard, as I operate a Learning Pod. (I teach a home schooling group of students).
Guest access
There are 4 steps coming into the house. The main floor has a one-step sunken living room. The stairs into the finished basement has a full length hand rail and is extra wide.
Notes
We have horses, chickens, dogs, and cats. If we do a non-sim. exchange, we can offer horseback trail riding and animal therapy.
There is also an opportunity to camp on our property, forage for wild edibles, and/or do a wilderness survival night.

Greetings!
Our "travelling family" consists of: KELLEY, I am a teacher, as well as Mom, gardener, pianist, horseback rider, camper, hiker, multi-sport enthusiast, age 50. LUKAS (son, swimmer, ball player, science experimenter, archer, fisher, cook, age 11),
CORINNE, sister to Kelley. Corinne is a nurse, hiker, mountain enthusiast, and hostess extraordinaire, age 45. WAYLON, Corinne's son. Waylon is a hockey player, ball player, biker, hiker, and artist, age 10. And GWEN, mother and grandmother to us all, age 75. We are so grateful for the opportunity to travel, but not be a tourist. We enjoy the outdoors, being on the water, connecting with other families, sharing cultures, welcoming others as well as being welcomed.
Real connection satisfies the soul.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
