Neighbourhood
Brightwater is in the Nelson/Tasman region at the top of the South Island of New Zealand.
Nelson/Tasman is known as the sunniest place in NZ with warm summer temperatures, and mild winters. It is a popular holiday destination for people looking for rest and relaxation and also active holidays. It's a wine and fruit region with beautiful beaches, mountains and national parks to visit.
Brightwater is a small village 20kms south of Nelson (about 25mins drive) and is home to a small supermarket, petrol station, mechanic, a restaurant, bar, cafe and coffee cart, hair salon, and fish 'n chip shop. It has a number of sports fields including a tennis court and basketball court, a primary school and several playgrounds. It is on the E-bus route to Richmond and Nelson and it is also on the Great Taste Trail cycleway network that links Nelson and the greater Tasman area.
Our home is on the rural edge of Brightwater 5 minutes walk to the river for swimming and 5 minutes walk to all community amenities.
Nearest airport
Nelson domestic airport is 16kms away (20 minute drive). International travelers can transit via Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch airports.
Getting Around
You can walk to the shops and to the E-bus stop. A car is required for other trips.
