About the neighbourhood – Øya, Trondheim 🌿
We love living on Øya because it gives you the best of both worlds: a quiet, green neighbourhood while still being only a short walk from the heart of Trondheim.
From the house you can easily walk to Nidaros Cathedral, Bakklandet, the river, cafés, restaurants and the city centre.
The area around Øya is perfect for enjoying Trondheim outdoors:
🌳 Marinen and the riverside paths
🌊 Ladestien and the fjord
🏊 Swimming spots like Korsvika
🚶 Beautiful walks along the river and coastline
Families especially love the nearby playgrounds and green areas around Nidarø, marinen, Finalebanen and the river. There are also many parks and outdoor spaces within walking distance.
For nature lovers, you can quickly reach Bymarka, Våttakammen and Geitfjellet for forest walks and amazing views over Trondheim.
Øya is a local neighbourhood with a relaxed atmosphere, but with everything Trondheim has to offer right outside your door.
Nearest airport
Værnes, Trondheim airport. Its 30-45 min away. There is a bus that goes very close to our house, about 5 min walking away. It stops at samfundet. There is also a train, which is at least half the price that goes quite regurarly 10 min walking away from my house.
Getting Around
The closest supermarked is about 3-4min walking. Its very easy to walk around everywhere. The buses goes everywhere. We have each our bikes which could be lent away. There is also city bikes around the city to rent. The electrical scooters are also everywhere in the summer time to hop on and off everywhere.
