General overview

Location, location! Lovely riverside suburb of Bicton, close to Fremantle, beautiful beaches and only 10km from Perth City in Western Australia. Walk or cycle to the river - if you are lucky spot the dolphins! We have a local shopping centre with large supermarket for all your groceries, pharmacy, several food outlets for dining or takeaway, right at the end of our street so only a 2 minute walk. You can also catch the bus from here to take you into Fremantle, a lively historic port town with lots of cafes, restaurants and things to do and the famous Fremantle markets are open every weekend, or in the opposite direction you can head into Perth city and visit plenty of attractions such as the Museum and Art Gallery, Kings Park, London Court, Elizabeth Quay and Northbridge for nightlife and restaurants. Hire a car and head South! A three hour drive and you will be in the heart of our wine region where you can visit many cellar door vineyards and restaurants, walk through magnificent Karri forests or enjoy some of the most stunning beaches in Australia! Do yourself a favour and Google Margaret River, Dunsborough, Yallingup, Busselton or a little bit further South is Denmark and the Pemberton region. We are also only a 45 minute drive to the Swan Valley, another great spot to explore! Oh and don’t forget to get your ’selfie’ with a Quokka at Rottnest Island, a 30 minute ferry ride from Fremantle, and a fabulous place to explore if you like swimming and snorkeling and cycling around the island! Western Australia truly has so much to offer and explore so be adventurous!

The space

The fully self-contained apartment is attached to the rear of our property and as such we don’t live in it (we live in the front part of the property). Therefore we are flexible with your travel dates! It has a large master bedroom with very comfortable Queen sized bed. The second bedroom is currently a work space with desk but can easily be converted to a single bed for an extra person. It has one bathroom with easy access walk-in shower. There is a fully equipped kitchen with gas cooktop, oven, microwave and dishwasher as well as a seperate laundry with washing machine and clothes dryer. Reverse-cycle air-conditioning to keep you cool throughout our hot summer and warm in winter. TV, wifi, Netflix also available. Secure driveway parking is available via the electric gate.

Guest access

Access is via the driveway/electric gate to the side of our property. No stairs, all rooms are on ground level with a small garden and verandah and parking for a car

This is a quiet suburb so strictly no parties or loud music after 10pm to respect the neighbours

Neighbourhood

Bicton is a lovely quiet suburb close to the river and conveniently located near Fremantle with easy access to buses and train to the City of Perth and some of the most beautiful beaches in Australia! Our property is only a 2 minute walk to a local shopping centre with supermarket, chemist and several food/dining/takeaway options.

Getting to my home

Catch the train from the airport to Fremantle then jump on the 910 bus directly outside the station. Alternatively it’s approx 30 minute Uber ride from the airport.

Getting around

Walking distance to shops and restaurants and the bus stop to take you into the city or Fremantle. Catch the ferry from Fremantle and take a 30 minute ride across to Rottnest Island for the day (or longer!) to explore this beautiful island and its stunning beaches! We can provide you with a ‘Smartrider’ which is a card that you use to catch all public transport around Perth (Transperth bus, train or ferry). You can add money to it to top it up and you must ‘tag on’ and ‘tag off’ each time you ride as fares are calculated by ‘zones’ and distance.
